according to...?

Considering he's leaving anyway, the Crows should just accept any old deal for him, rather than looking silly by letting him go for free.

So how about it OK.Crows: SA champ Stuart Cochrane back home for Kane :p

LOL. They might lose sponsors if they ask for to much in a trade, and subsequently lose him in the draft.

Are you calling for it, or is that where the info is?

If this is the case, Collingwood and Adelaide have two players worth something that must be traded.

If we can get Sydney involved, we could have a three way.

Alternatively, a straight swap for Carey seems fair and Kane will have to beg for his pay-check each week.

Goodes to Crows
Davis to Sydney
Johnson to Collingwood (then I can really hate him)

That would've seemed most likely to me.

I would appreciate it if someone could post the link for this claim when it is made available on the Internet :). Is there anymore news than suga has just walked out on the club? Perhaps he can go to us as a swap for Carey, and we can hopefully ontrade him to the Tigers to get their #4 pick! Now that i would like...

"Walked out"??? That sounds juicy. That sounds very pre-season draftesque. Come to Carlton Kaney, we aren't that much of a rabble. Just ask Rohan.

Sydney, from a position of strength, to trade Goodes for Davis??

Er, don't hold your breath.

Good call, mate.

Collingwood would have to throw in their #16 pick as well.

While Adelaide give their #31 pick to Collingwood.

Or something like that.

He hasn't walked out, he's just decided that he wants to be traded to a Melbourne club. There's no dispute between player and club.

Don't get me wrong, Johnson is a very good player and would into the Collingwood side but I would rather keep Davis than have either of the other 2. I hope Collingwood have not given up on him.

Obvious

Reading a bit into this, he probably was being offered to the Ross but didn't want to go (why would any established player given their cash problems). What does he do, walk-out, and effectively remove some of their power.

Good move from his end, bad for the crows. Wonder whether the Crow fans will give him a bake like we Pie supporters have being giving Davis?

Adelaide wouldn't prefer him to stay?
Sure, but its not ill feeling - Johnson doesn't hate the Crows, is the point I'm trying to make. The odds of him just up and going into the December draft are low.

Are you serious? Kane Johnson vs Nick Davis? No contest.

I hadn't heard (or have access to) any report on this, but this development is not a surprise. Johnson is out of contract and has been tossing up for some time if he was going to stay or not.

This report is probably just his decision - go home to Melbourne rather than stay in Adelaide, which is fair enough. Good luck to him.

Since it took him some considerable time to come to this decision, it by no means was a forgone conclusion on his part, nor is it set in concrete now I would imagine.

If Crows don't get a good trade for Johnson, then I'm sure that Kane & the AFC could still come to an agreement for next year, even if that wasn't exactly what Kane had wanted to do.

There is no way Crows will need to settle for a poor trade or just let Johnson go in the draft. That never seemed like the situation and AFAIK remains the case now.
