Ha, with the silly tiggeys trying to spent cash everywhere and go on the biggest recruitment drive in the history of football it is great to see they nabbed only one player (Brown) from a club that got a better player in return eventually (Rawlings)

Gregory Miller misses on Solomon and now copeland. I am extremley pleased and satisfed that they now have to settle with 'Simon Fletcher'

Vulture like clubs like Richmond practially caused the death of fitzroy and its great to see them with egg on their face with no solly or copeland.

HA HA HA

2 things:

1. You should have added this to the other thread bagging richmond.

2. Whilst I am happy with Rawlings, he is not a better player than Brown. He will be more useful to us structure wise, but is not better than Brown.

You could be right on your second point however the more threads that bag richmond the better IMO

You are right when you say way back in the 60's 70's and 80's so get over it.

But remember this when you are crying yourself to sleep at night....in the worst two years in the history of the Carlton Football Club we still beat Richmond!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely correct. Rawlings has suddenly been elevated into stardom which is ridiculous. He's just another good player and to say he is better than Brown is crazy.

We actually pursued and got Shane Morrison too. So to get 2 out of 4 is not so bad.
Whilst it was disappointing to miss out on Copeland and Solomon,
I was happy to see the club being agressive during the trading period and was very pleased to secure Nathan Brown. If I remember correctly Carlton were chasing Brown too, but he wisely chose the Tigers instead.

All the big name players that Carlton chased didn't want to go there and the only way they could pick up a decent player is because of the stand off between Collingwood and Port Adelaide over Nick Stevens. If not for that they would just have their little list of rejects from other clubs to build a team around.

I would be interested to know how old you are Bogan blue? By the quality of your posts I would guess it ends in ...teen:rolleyes:

Even if he is in his teen's at least he has seen his team win a flag buddy!

Rupert Betheras is a better player than Simon Fletcher and would have been a better pick-up. He is five years older admittedly, but Fletcher has no more than three years left in him anyway so age is not a factor. God know the Tiges could use some muscle at the bottom of the packs. I guess they expect big things from the Kellaways (again)!!!!!!!!!
