Slide a four year 1.3 million contract under his nose
Despite Adelaide coach Neil Craig saying this week that his club "faced an uphill battle" to retain Tippett, outgoing Crows general manager of football operations John Reid said yesterday he remained confident of keeping the Queenslander for the long term. "Kurt has indicated he loves being here; he's bought a house here," Reid said. "He's happy and we're happy to talk at the end of the year about a contract extension."
Didn't we used to have a we only give 2 year contracts policy? Lets hope we got rid of that one.
Has anyone seen this:

No one's mentioned Andy Otten as yet. His contract runs out at the end of this year, and as such, I seriously hope he is one of the current priorities for resigning.
Sorry TSR - I'm not sure what you are saying here (sometimes I'm a bit slow on the uptake).im sure he is given that his contract will expire at years end
But when push comes to shove, it's not everything.
These boys are after the ultimate in AFL - a premiership. Reckon they'll be clever enough to recognise they'll be more likely to get one (sooner rather than later) at the Crows than the Gold Coast.
Jenny, the Gold Coast will be a genuine top four chance from when their young stars mature to when they begin to decline. Of course there are many variables including which mature stars they recruit, coaching, management and plain luck but roughly estimating, you're be looking at a period spanning somewhere around 2015 to 2025, give or take a couple of years on each. These boys are after the ultimate in AFL - a premiership. The AFL has correctly identified that this new club needs success in the near future to help attract support, both corporate and fans, to enable GC to succeed. The rules put in place dictate that with any sort of reasonable management they'll be a force to be reckoned with.
Surely given our list compared to the stars the Gold Coast will have with all their concessions, we could offer Tippett more, or at least as much as GC17.
Look at our list currently, who there is worth the genuinely big bucks, theres no Rievoldts, Fevs or Judds in there. I can't see how the salary cap could be a problem for us.
I doubt that we're in any position to combat them financially at all. They have a list which is full of teenagers, all of whom would be on minimum salary. Our list contains some teenagers, but very few players would be on minimum wages.
To compound matters, the GC have a significantly higher salary cap than the existing teams for their first few years - something like 20% in their first season.
We can certainly put together a competitive package, but if money is the only consideration then he's as good as gone. Thankfully, I doubt that money will be the key factor when he makes his decision.
The GC team will be successful because the AFL wont allow another Brisbane Bears situation to happen and the Crows will not be the only club to have to deal with this kind of thing from them.
Not necessarily. These boys are after the ultimate in AFL - a premiership. Reckon they'll be clever enough to recognise they'll be more likely to get one (sooner rather than later) at the Crows than the Gold Coast.
