Any chance of the Bombers getting Grigg???
Also could you give me your thoughts on him :thumbsu:

Unlikely. But possible because he isn't a super high level athlete.

Inside mid. Physically ready to go year 1. Big ball winner and can win his own ball but wouldn't describe him as being necessarily a big time inside ball winner. Kicking is a highlight with his 60m kicking. Decision making and ball use very good by hand and foot.

Nah, no article of yet that suggests we will get one of those picks. It will be #4 if anything. A lot of jounro's have been suggesting if the out clause in Tippett's contract is true, we should be trying to move him early (for that pick #4) to GCS.

I reckon though, as the existence of this clause is yet to be proven, if he is traded this year, it exists, if not, it doesn't. If we don't trade him, or something suggests that we didn't try hard to move him, and the clause does prove to exist, that really is piss poor by our recruiting department.

If GCS are reluctant in trading as they know they will get him next year, we should try and move him to Brisbane. They have some nice picks in the top 16, as well as some good players that we could use. Tippett would be invaluable to them as well.

Don't get me wrong, if we some how manage to keep Tippett, I'll be stoked, but I'll be majorly peeved if AFC basically just let him leave.

I don't think Tippett will be going anywhere this year. Seem to remember there was an interview during the year where he spoke about wanting to stay at Adelaide for next year. But also seems keen to head back to QLD at some stage in possibly 2, 3 years, maybe later in his career.

There will always be compensation. Best to keep Tippett for as long as you can. Once your midfield re-establish I think his production will increase significantly and will be worth allot more if ever he has to go.

Still no Alex Benbow from Dandenong?
Also what are the chances of Kavanagh getting to pick 14?

Probably not Benbow for me. Certainly would have to be a rookie chance considering some of the very good football he has played throughout the year though.

Kavanagh very unlikely to last to 14. Is one of the better talents in the draft and should go top 10. Stranger things have happened though..

It would be funny if Crows tried everything to get an earlier pick to try and snag Wingard and fail, then he is the big slider in this draft and we pick him up with #6. Could happen

Hey what is your thoughts on Justin Clarke from Booleroo. Looks like a bolter and alot of clubs are sniffing
6ft 5. They like him Dustin Fletcher
What do u know?

The only realistic pick we could hope to get is #4. It's not a failure if we don't get it, it will be a failure if we get it, then GWS choose Wingard at pick #3. That'd shit me up the wall, that's for sure.

Definitely looks like Wingard will be sliding to Port at #6 though.

Why has wingard slipped so far?
He was a certain top 3 prospect and now could be this years daniel rich/joel sellwood

I really don't see it to be honest, I find it hard to split Coniglio and Wingard for the top two in the draft. Really cant see him sliding to 5 let alone pick 6.

Wingard has had an ankle injury, apparently a knee injury, isn't playing SANFL because of it. Also has a considerable concussion history. Where as, Dom Tyson has lifted considerably, and is dominating TAC Cup. Buntine at 4 is to adress a need if GCS keep pick #4, and Longer would be a necessity at #5 for GWS.

There was a bit of talk on the Port board that if we tanked and got the spoon, we could pick up Wingard at #4, like you said, would be funny (not so much for us) if we got the spoon and Wingard went at #3

Honestly think he is a chance to slide, but we'll wait and see.

Haven't seen him or any footage of him so can't really fill you in on the type of player he is. Very keen to now though.

Very good find!

Sounds like he could be a fairly draftable type and could go in the main draft if he interviews and tests well.

For those talking Wingard. Just have to wait and see. Draft position still unknown. Could go at pick 3. Could go at pick 6. Could go at pick 4 or 5. We'll find out more closer to the draft.

I'll be shuffling around my order a fair bit over coming weeks. Don't be surprised if I chuck Wingard back into the top 3.

Tom Mitchell without a doubt would have been a top 3 draft pick. GWS offered him something like $1m over 3 years to play for them, which Sydney then had to match. So if he had have accepted GWS' offer, they would have drafted him as a top 3 selection, possibly even number 1 with the size of the contract offer.

I think he may even have deserved to go top 3 with his recent form for Claremont Colts, has been killing it.

Adelaide will make a play during trade week for several top 15-20 picks, intended or unintended. We will be gunning for pick #3/#4 in the draft for Wingard, and still maintain a pick in the top 20 I think. Interesting times ahead.

So whom would command pick 4 from Adelaides list? surely not Tipett?

Anyone think that Xavier Richards is going to get picked up? I think he's a valuable player to have. Tall an versitile. I think hes maybe a 75 or 76 to Swans or Saints or something. Ted Richards brother. Hes a good player and deserves to get picked up for his effort at VM?

Is there any video available or highlights packages of players similar to previous years?

Footage should be made available soonish on afl.com.

All that is relevant with Sydney is yes Mitchell is a bargain late in the 1st round and they are very keen to bring him into the senior side right away.

No he would not be a no.1 selection in this draft and probably not even top 3 - what is important to note about GWS is that they will throw money at any young player who looks like an AFL quality player - and give them a front loaded contract to entice - because they can.

There is no chance what so ever that we will recieve pick 4, unless it was for Tippett but he isn't going anywhere this draft period. Wingard will most probably go to Port.

Wingard could go to GWS, Gold Coast or Port Adelaide. Unlikely any club will be able to trade up into a super high pick - and not sure it is worthwhile trading a very high level established player for a high draft pick - because the draft after all is only a lottery as any draft is.

Probably more of a later or rookie selection - but certainly will get consideration.

Unsure physically if he will ever grow into a big KPP. But potential to develop into a solid contributor is there.

Good call, i think hes ready though, from experience, hes strong and quick and could be handy for some clubs struggling for a quick player. He can play anywhere, i feel his best position is CHB where he excelled for Xavier this year, but he also kicked 7 against Geelong Grammar and was used as a FP for VM so he is a useful player. Surely once you get him in to a club they build them up though, but i get what you mean. I tend to disagree with your rookie selection call, but its just my opinion, i think he could do an Alex Browne and come from no where, not quite as high as Browney, but 70-90 i think he could feature.

Follow APS footy closely.

With this years draft after about the 3rd round most clubs will likely start passing and instead save up for the 2012 draft - much more talent. Likely if you take out those rookie upgrades, likely won't be more than 70 going in the main draft.

Hey Knightmare, Any chance Jimmi Savage will get picked up? was on GWS list at the start of the year i think

Unlikely he will go in the main draft. But if he displays interest certainly a rookie possibility because the talent is there.

Would of thought that if Jackson Paine is availible at Collingwoods first pick, we would grab him? Probably don't really have that big tall marking forward behind Clokey and Dawes?

It's an interesting question Pendles. Certainly think we will take a KPF or two. Whether it be in the main draft or rookie draft.

I personally favour taking a KPF through the rookie draft - Jimmi Savage (High upside athletic type), Brett Eddy (Had a very solid year at VFL level for the Pies + knows our structures and is familiar with team mates), Ben Brown (Unlucky not to get drafted last year - was unlucky with knee injury. KPF/Ruck) and Sam Gordon (Strong, tall KPF prospect) are some who might be available and appeal.

Reason for this is we get James Stewart as F/S in the 2012 draft - who looks like a high quality future KPF so we don't necessarily need to go too hard after a super high level KPF prospect this year.

Also watch our for Waylen Manson if keen on a super talented KPF for the main draft. Might be one Collingwood look at - if we can convince him to make the move to Melb + think he can fit into our culture might just develop into one of the better talents in this draft.
