News Koch blocks Tredders push for the board

I remember being down at training and Tredrea was in some form of rehab doing sprints along the boundary line. Rucci turns up, and Tredrea tersely says to him "You here to ****in' retire me again?" after Rucci had written articles about him retiring recently.

Did lol.

Good old Davo. Upset we aren't talking about the positives of carbon neutrality rather than pointing out the shortcomings of our core purpose for existence.

There seems to be something about people with the name David.

From the moment he wandered the oval with the Farris brothers, it was clear the club was a vanity project for David. He is now attached to the club like a parasite, living off what little prestige it retires to a soul sucked dry by breakfast television.

If only he realised how much more he could drain from the club if it was to win a premiership.

I didn't even get my sax solo

This begs the question... can Koch be ousted from the Chairmanship? Or has he essentially been grandfathered in via the AFL and so is only answerable to them?

If it's the latter, we are royally screwed.
If there was a genuine alternative board pitching (say Tredders, Cahill and some members with legal and business acumen) and the members were loud enough that they demanded change then the AFL would succumb.

It would be like the Swans fans demanding Roos as coach.

I don't know if we're capable of making enough noise.

It's hard to imagine our members uniting more around an alternative board than they have around, say, Bring Back the Bars. The latter is an issue where (bruised egos of VFL parochialists aside) the AFL risks losing fairly little financially or in the way of control. Against little opposition beyond the obstinate league office/commission itself (plus a couple of Collingwood pig f***ers), how much headway have we made on BBTB?

We've seen how the AFL media forces of darkness marshall against us to defend Hinkley. If momentum built behind an alternative board, every dickhead the AFL could muster would be dancing to the tune of "Port members are stupid and unrealistic", which would absolutely spook the theatre-goers and happy-clappers.

Two things were reaffirmed at last night's meeting.
David Koch makes the decisions.
Status quo will remain until he and Hinkley are gone.

.......... talking about the positives of carbon neutrality rather than pointing out the shortcomings of our core purpose for existence.
Isn't our core purpose for existence just to exist?
In an elite competition?
To a level of performance equating to competitive neutrality?

Didn't think we had to establish any particular high ideals to strive for! 🤔
That's taking it all a bit too far.

Has she? Based on what?

It's been reported that she had a very hands on role with the creation of our AFLW programme. I am happy with what they have done with AFLW so far, albeit under extremely trying circumstances imposed by the league. Hence Ransom and everyone else involved get a tick from me on that front.

She is of course as culpable as any other board member re ongoing fiascos such as Hinkley, the PBs, etc.

Are we sure one Warren Tredrea making noise would have been enough to overturn a dual captain’s decision let alone an undeserved coaching extension? Seems like they were all in on it including the players.
