Oliver may already be slaughtering you going by the last 12 months.that's 3-4 first rounders but losing Pickett and Oliver would slaughter us.
agreed. it's a big year for him.Oliver may already be slaughtering you going by the last 12 months.
maybe when out of contract. But he's one of the best young players in the comp but people sleep on him because he was rookied. Currently better than Wardlaw and not even close in my eyes. That said I'm not a wardlaw fan.Maybe if GC want him, otherwise ya dreaming getting a top 10 pick for him.
Pretty sure his partner was born and raised in Darwin. She has lived in Melbourne for over 10 years.Kysaiah I see as like Wirrapunda was for WCE he was desperately home sick every year
but kept on signing on despite it
The only difference is his partner is from WA and would like to go home
How can he leave when he's contracted until the end of 2027 ?Was certain he would leave. Glad to see he is staying.

People seem to think contracts mean nothing, but it's entirely dependent on the club and the stage they're at.
If Pickett requests a trade at the end of 2026, with only one year remaining, Melbourne are far more likely to consider it, but not when they think they're still in premiership contention and he has 3 years to run.
Also, he never requested a trade. He never has.
Oh he definitely askedSorry.
You are correct, let me adjust to saying I thought he would ask to leave.
I think he’d go if he could. But he isn’t desperate or demanding a move. I’d say the Bolton deal would’ve just about ruled them out this year. Was certain he would leave. Glad to see he is staying.
I think he probably did ask but he was never going to go this year because Freo put their trade currency into Shai Bolton. It could happen next year for 2 firsts but I'd much prefer to keep him clearly.Oh he definitely asked
He didn't have a choice
Reading between the lines I think he may have asked the question of his management to reach out. But didn’t demand a trade I.e Houston.Oh he definitely asked
He didn't have a choice
Oh he definitely didn't, as per his manager.Oh he definitely asked

Not true, way too much talk behind the scenes,Oh he definitely didn't, as per his manager.
Maybe. But also a good chance to go end of 2026. If Melbourne are still in contention we’ll try hold him unless Freo offering a very good deal. If he’s 100% leaving we’ll let him go prior to his last year you’d think to get best value. He will be playing for fremantle in 2026
Rubbish. Not true, way too much talk behind the scenes,
Twomey said he was still trying to get here in the final hour
Manager just smart enough to not leak it out when it wasn't gonna get done, otherwise you have a Lobb situation where your player is hated
a) His manager will always say that, there is too much happening behind the scenes, surely you're not blind to thatRubbish.
a. His manager has publicly stated he never sought a trade and b. Freo had absolutely nothing to offer even if he did.
Just a crock of shit.
Why would you put so much faith in a biased manager over an established journalist with no skin in the game? Not saying the report is true but you are clearly picking and choosing facts to suit your narrative. I guess we should also ignore the fact that Kozzie met with Freo when he was in WA over the break.Rubbish.

Managers often say that if a deal can be done their client is interested in a move. Not only didn't Rhode say that, he told Melbourne that Pickett wasn't requesting a trade. Why would you put so much faith in a biased manager over an established journalist with no skin in the game? Now that clubs can trade picks two years into the future, Melbourne could run a serious auction for Kozzy at the end of 2025/26 e.g. three consecutive year's worth of first round picks would be hard to turn down if Melbourne are about to commit to a rebuild in this hypothetical situation. Just play Freo, Port and West Coast off against one another until you secure an offer that's too good to refuse. They can even use the Warner situation to create a sense of urgency for the WA club that doesn't land Warner. Port have been pretty generous at the trade table in recent years so they may be the ones who end up landing Kozzy.Maybe. But also a good chance to go end of 2026. If Melbourne are still in contention we’ll try hold him unless Freo offering a very good deal. If he’s 100% leaving we’ll let him go prior to his last year you’d think to get best value.
Also depends on where they see themselves in the chase for Warner.

Pickett only signed his new contract in 2023, which would be a strange thing to do if you wanted to leave.
Pickett knew his uncle (Roy George) would be training with Melbourne this off season with a view to hopefully join the club, which is another reason he never inteded to move.
And even if this utter tripe was true, it isn't, why would Melbourne trade a player they wanted to keep who had 3 years left on a contract for pick 17 and a future first ? Do you think they're insane ?
The comment that even on the final day of the trade period there was still a chance he'd leave is nothing short of a fanciful wish from delusional Freo fans. No deal was ever getting done. Do you think his manager has no idea how the trade period works ? Freo fans may not, but I'm certain his manager does.
