He's better than a good player, despite never getting into AA which is meaningless anyway. He'd be your second best midfielder for consistency of output in the same way he is ours.
in terms of consitency yes he might be our 2nd best but that is only because Beams and Zorko would get tagged before him. In terms of our best midfielders he would be our 3rd. Yes he is a better than good player.

Probably right. I've always been one to favour proven players over picks. But that foot. I know it could be all worry for nothing, but it does bug me.

Prudence says to wait Hogan out 'til next year, but that would be a big call in this circumstance - my gut tells me if Neale wants out and Hogan genuinely wants in, then you make it happen this year, but you play up that injury concern for all its worth in trade negotiations.
Freo will try and grab Hogan this year for the same reason we are trying to grab Neale this year. Who knows what will happen next year, he may decide he wants to stay in Melbourne (which is a good posibility because he has staying in Melbourne for a while, WC might come to play etc.). If you have a gun player wanting to come to ur club, you try and get it done (as long as a thorough medical is done on him, naviculars are concerning)

As a fan it can sometimes be a bit frustrating not knowing what is going on, I think it is great though.

The FFC don't seem to play through the media which could give them a stronger bargaining position. They don't get sucked in to making comments like Gold Coast did last year or even MFC did this year.

It's just silence.

It would be great if FFC just didn't comment on Lachie Neale but said to him we would like to keep you. Get the Hogan deal done with what we have then do the Neale trsde afterwards.

Its better to remain silent and appear stupid than to speak and remove all doubt.

I think we're playing this situation very well.

For those who want to know why Lachie lost it, it stemmed from a post-match dressing down of Tommy after the rnd 11 flogging, who actually performed ok. Tommy left early in the week to spend time with his family, got the consent from the club, then copped a mighty spray for doing what he had received permission for. Was labelled a mummy's boy. Hard to believe, but true in this day and age.

Left a bad taste in Lachie's & Tom's mouth, given his knowledge of how others prepare in the playing group.

Tommy played in Rd 12 though?

Too many people saying it did and fits the profile of management.

Fits the profile of management.. Who Lyon? The same guy who all but a couple of senior players from Freo and past clubs hold in high esteem and have a strong relationship with ross to this day.

Some of the stuff written here is mind blowing.

Going from his profile of management as discussed by players even once in retirement, if you were being objective you could only come to the conclusion that it does not fit the profile of management.

I am not saying it did or didn't happen, just that all evidence shows it doesn't fit the profile of management.

No one said it was Rock..um I mean Ross.

If Shero got permission for leave presumably as head coach, Ross would be the one to sign off on that.

~1m a season over 5. Heavily front ended at ~1.25m-ish for first 2 years... as I broke earlier before being shouted down by some random Freo poster. That kind of money would probably mean you would usually get our first + a 2nd in a straight swap. However, if Hogan wants in and it would seem so I reckon we could get a 3-way trade happening.

I think all 3 clubs might swap their future 2nds to even out the trade values. Pick 5, Neale and Hogan are the main pieces obviously.

Freo trade future 2nd to Melbourne, Melbourne trade future 2nd to Lions, Lions trade future 2nd to Freo.
