Far more important for there to be integrity and credibility in a sport, where rules are well understood and consistently applied, as opposed to 'upsets, high scoring and close results'

So on the same night a textbook tackle had a 3 week ban upheld at the tribunal, we also get word that they're going to remove restrictions on NGA and academy bids altogether only 3 years after the JUH rort occurred which was the catalyst for those changes to begin with... God help us we need to get her out of head office ASAP.

Don't forget Essendon who wouldn't have planned one bit for matching a bid on Kako knowing full well he won't make it past 40, now have to figure out a last minute strategy without having the previous opportunity to stock up on late picks or move ahead of where they think a bid will come.

Andrew Dillon too. These two muppets are destroying the game completely. Not just the different rules for different clubs or different players either. Just look at the tribunal decisions tonight. A tackle no longer deemed a football act. Absolute bullshit. Just remove it from the game completely and we'll trot off and find another sport to support.

the umps can barely go a week without catastrophically altering the outcome of games, the MRO is a mess and the draft system is in disarray... AN IN SEASON TOURNAMENT WILL FIX IT ALL! As if Opening round wasn't a big enough **** show

As if Opening round wasn't a big enough **** show
Use the in season tournament as a way to test new rules. The 9 point super goal brought excitement back in the day. And restricting players to set zones on the ground, that would really open the game up and make it exciting. They could also make the ground 100m shorter so players could kick goals from first possession. The scoring rate would increase dramatically. But to do this you’d have to halve the number of players on the ground. And outlaw tackling to reduce injury risk. But make the players carry tags on their uniform that the opposition can grab for holding the ball instead. A rectangular ground would anlso make it easier to make the right call on the when the ball is in play. And fans attention spans are shorter now. So restrict the quarters to 10 minutes with fireworks and quirky crowd interactions in the breaks. Oh and fireworks after each goal regardless of whether the game is played at day or night is a given.
The opportunities to dazzle and bewilder are endless.
