Just heard on SEN that Leon is wanting to move back to WA after having a "fallout" with MM.

Also heard that Medders has been in talks with his management about a possible return home as well...

I have heard that Leon could be part of a trade to Westcoast for their pick 7 and Staker... Worsfold has said there pick 7 is on the table for an experienced small forward..

Is there any truth to this? and if so, what can we get for skunk? im thinking this is a way we could land Jolly and Fev...

Your thoughts

Unlikely, and would be disappointed/surprised if Meds wanted to return home after reviving his career here.

If Leon wants to go, he'd be a decent sell-high candidate but I'd be sorry to lose him. It would be even worse if the pick was used in a Fevola trade, IMO.

That would cripple our small forward stocks!

Didak would be forced to play forward permanently, and it would hinder Thomas playing midfield more. Dick could never be dropped, and Macaffer would have to be a permanent fixture too [I'm fine with that].

We can afford to lose one, not both!!!

I'd be devastated - my 2 favourite players:mad:

Medhurst is contracted til the end of 2010 and Leon til the end of 2011, both AA players. If MM wants a premiership next year these 2 would have to be in the mix.

Wouldnt think the Pies would want Staker as part of the trade. Possibly another player??
What was the disagreement about? MM having a go at him for his finals campaign?

mitch brown instead of staker would be nice, but anyway, why the f... would we trade leon davis, hes a freak.

I really have no interest whatsoever in Staker. He's a more athletic L Brown, jack of all trades and master of none. His most notable achievement is getting knocked out by Barry Hall.

I wouldnt be too distraught if we lost Medders. He seems to have a problem with being a sore loser. If the ball isnt passed to him in the clear he consistantly has a go at the ball passer, like Rhyce used to. He has a mental weakness that shows through when he's not performing and the honeymoon period at Collingwood is the only time over his career that he has been seen as someone with a massive upside... His best year is behind him.

Neons best years are upon him now. After all the faith we have put into him and the rewards are finally being reaped I will eat a devo sandwich if he leaves... although replacing Davis in the forward line with Fevola would sweeten the deal.

Losing Davis for his on ball clearance work is a worry though... but of course if we got a ruckman like Jolly that could create an advantage at clearances would curve what I consider the void of Davis could leave.

If we get Jolly and Fev... then sadly Davis may be the established player we may need to lose - I just pray we neve play against him in a final.

Hard to think that he'd have a fallout with MM after all Mick has stood by Leon endless number of times when he's copped criticism and many a coach would have traded/delisted him ages ago. Now that Mick's faith is starting to be repaid it'd be a huge blow to lose Davis, and to be honest Davis still owes us for sticking by him for a good 5-7 years when he was inconsistent as all hell.

As for Medders, could possibly have his nose out of joint because he got dropped for the game against the Cats. He would realise that he wasnt in great form but I guess he probably feels like the club should have persisted and shown him that faith, after all even when not 100% he's the type of player who can have a great 15-20 mins and turn a game, not suggesting his inclusion woulda made one iota of difference in that horrid display.

Losing either of these players would be a blow. If Davis was to go I'd want at least Pick 7 and then put that in our back pocket to get a midfielder or key tall. I doubt we'd be able to get as high a pick for Medhurst although he'd still command a first round pick. Losing both these players would be a distaster even if we landed Fev and Jolley

So if this did happen, would you guy's want Fev with pick 7 who may be finished when our teams in its prime or pick up a potential young gun

Potenial young guns are players that played well in the juniors... Scott Burns was picked up in the 70's of draft picks... the club did the rest.

Fevola at Pick 7... in a heartbeat.

Well...

Nah too easy :p

But yeah, sad to see Neon go if this is true. I hope it's not, and I find it hard to believe that he and Mick had a falling out after all that stuff about him being grateful for the faith Mick showed in him during the year. The upside is Leon is an AA player in his prime and will probably fetch something good in a trade.

I'd rather it be Cook or Stanley. What will Sydney want for Jolly?
Sydney fans on BigFooty want #14 and two young guns.

Sydney the football club will probably accept #14 and steak knives, or #14 and assistance in getting Seaby to the SCG.

this get fev to pies in 2010 ... no doubt
pick 7 and a player like dawes or wellingham

Pick 7 is off limits for Fev, he represents too much of a risk for such a high pick. Pick 14 + Dawes/Wellingham/Caff + 3rd or 4th rd pick is the limit. Remember if we are the only team interested in acquiring Fev, as it seems we are at the moment, and the Blues are really that desperate to get rid of him because things are so bad, then we can afford to play hardball with them and give them a take it or leave it approach. Why should we go giving away pick 7 to that scum when pick 14 will suffice? All this talk from their supporters about wanting 14 + Brown or Davis or Reid or Medhurst is nothing more than them HOPING they will get something decent in return. At the end of the day it will come down to how badly Fev actually did behave at the Brownlow because if what some people have said is true(e.g. smacking Murphy one, getting up close with Twiggles) then there is NO WAY they can afford to keep him for next year. At the end of the day I hope that we absolutely screw Carltank sideways and watch their supporters cry

If Davis does end up going and we can get Jolley and Fev(side note its one of those a friend told me stories but a friend was talking to a player agent we know ,he has know this guy from high school, saying last night the Jolley deal is done for pick 14 and a player he didn't say who) then Leon has paid us back for the faith we have shown in him. A few years ago we would have got nothing of note for him but now he could help us get us a A grade Ruck-man or Full forward. Ok he isn't repaying us on the field himself but through his development his price tag has gone up which may help us come trade week.

Not that i want him to go but we past on Lockett in the 90's and what a mistake that was let's not muck around and hope young guys come good if we can get a Gun Full Forward then lets do it.

i'll back you up on that. the jolly deal is done and could even be the 1st signed off on monday morning. the only player i've heard bandied about so far is ryan cook, but it is definitely done for pick 14 and a fringe player. that's why pick 14 is off the table in fev discussions. some flog on the syd board wants pick 14, n brown and brad dick - yeah right!!

this deal won't happen. WCE are after an experienced forward pocket but not one that probably has only 3 years left in the game. this is why we are/were chasing stokes. he is experienced yet has a lot of years left. he should be peaking about the time we are playing finals again. davis will either be well past his best or retired when we are next making a push for finals. pick 7 (or better) for davis a couple years ago was realisitc but not now...

that said, i love the bloke. would love to have him back home.

Seriously, Stokes? We are talking about the same Stokes from Geelong here arent we?

He isn't Leon Davis' bootlace.

Worsfold has said the number 7 pick is up for trade for an experienced small forward, surely only Davis and Medhurst fit this bill, not Stokes.

Stokes would be worth an early second round draft pick at absolute best.

I'm hoping none of this happens though, WCE would be better off keeping pick 7, we would be better off keeping Leon and Meds, and as for Fev, I really don't give a shit, the blokes the moron that makes lesser morons look good.

Go down to Visy Park at 11am tomorow, hahahaha

why would westcoast give up pick 7 for davis when their prem windows a mile away ? sounds good to me though and if it happened i wouldnt be using it to land fev, id go for some serious young talent, i think davis would be a better fit for the dockers though, why wouldnt they be asking for him ?, they wouldnt want medhurst back i know but medhurst could go to the weagles for a nice pick or player, we could do very well out of this if the dockers came to the party.
