Regarding ticket sales/swaps: The AFL Grand Final is protected under Australian law by anti-scalping regulations, which forbid tickets to be sold at more than 10% of their face value. Offering tickets at more than this will be deleted; continuing to try to scalp tickets will result in bans.

BigFooty does not guarantee ticket sales or swaps. It is entirely at your own risk, please make sure you trust the poster in question. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I’m not sure how it works with using codes allocated to other members, but if anyone needs a priority 2 code to include in their ballot registration this afternoon shoot me a message as I have one that I won’t be using

I have been able to find someone who is willing to sell their AFL membership code for the final but they want 800 dollars for it :(..
That a little more than what I was hoping for :)

Great that you have been able to get a lead, hopefully you get a better one than that though!

Interested, but dont know how to contact you directly. Can you contact me directly? Sorry, new to BF

Do Priority 2 and 3 members find out before the Preliminary Final whether they have been successful in the ballot? Or do they only find out when their credit card is debited?

I have a Priority 1 code but also two Priority 3 codes.
After PF when the credit card is debited is my understanding

I’d get them now but make sure you have a cancellation capability or transfer capability if that’s what you want.
We still have a thousand in Jetstar credit from last year because we canceled but we couldn’t get money back because our tickets didn’t have that capability.
We thought we had lost the money but ended up with the credit
Pretty much already paid for the flights.
We said we should of just went, would of been easier, but that was then.
I’m still undecided only99%sure we will go and this time we go regardless of whether we are in the final.

Yeah I have family that live down in Melbourne so accommodation is fine, I could always just go down no matter what.
But Id prefer to be at home watching it if I cant go to the game.
Leaning more towards just going down no matter what though.

Can
Yes, but my question is do we find out whether we have been successful before that?
My understanding is that ballot happens after the two Prelims are completed and the GF teams are known. Usually the ballot happens on the Sunday after the Prelims credit cards start to be debited

So you wont know if you got a ticket untill Monday 25th.. so you basically have to book flights now regardless.. thats crazy

Just hover over then click the "start conversation" at the bottom left of every post, next to the "report" function.
Unfortunately I dont have that option, see screenshot, do I need a paid subscription? I just have Report, no start conversation option.

So (if we make it) we get 17,000 tickets. There are supposedly 7,000 September members. Whilst not all will for varying reasons, if we assume all 7,000 do register it leaves 10,000. If all P2s register and there are more than 10,000 of them there will be some that would miss out, meaning P3s would be zero chance.

Yes, but my question is do we find out whether we have been successful before that?
Members who were successful in the ballot will have their credit card charged on either September 23 or September 24.

Members can log onto the Ticketek website or Brisbane Lions website from 9am (EST) Monday September 25 to see if they were successful or unsuccessful in the ballot by checking for their Ticketek Customer ID. Email notification will also be sent to successful and unsuccessful members by the Club on Monday September 25.

Tickets for successful members will be distributed from Ticketek via email on Wednesday September 27th 2023.

Just registered for myself. Was very easy, think logging in at 9:30 beat the morning rush, as it went straight through. Now just need to win next week!!

Hi Tom, if any of your usual crew would be interested in passing on their unused barcodes for the ballot please let me know. I'll happily compensate. Long shot, however I have 3 family members I'm trying to get into the ballot.

They've passed on their barcodes to family members sadly. Good luck!

Sorry for asking again, but is ticketing procedure the same for PF as it was for QF?
Possibly but we are just guessing.
The club and the AFL want to get this "Ballot Registration" finalized for Lions and Pies first.

The club and AFL will then advise members of the PF ticketing procedure as soon as practicable.
It won't clash with the next "ballot" between the two winning teams on the weekend.

Just a note regarding passing on barcodes to people other than family and friends.

Below from the Carlton board.

*Please be aware that giving someone your Membership barcode means that person can access tickets to future finals matches using your barcode without your permission.

So, giving an unknown person your barcode for the ballot means they could use it to get PF tickets without your knowledge.

Yeah, people need to be wary of this. Bit of trust involved.

I chose the no standing option. If there are 7,000 September members and 17,000 ticket allocation, the likelihood of missing has to be almost nil.
That is true for P1 members but not necessarily for P2, P3.

However, by choosing the "including standing" option for a P1 member you get the same result being a reserved seat.
