I agree, as far as one consecutive GF teams, they're right up there with the Bummers' dynasty of 2000.

Absolutely magnificent single consecutive premiership winning teams, both of them.

Will Hawthorn win the flag next year and overtake Geelong, or fail and watch on as their supporters continue to use 08 as a comfort mechanism?

It will be an interesting year... Will they buckle under the weight of the expectations of their supporter base.

Why is 2011 relevant to 2007 (different captain and coach) and yet 2013 isn't relevant to 2008 (same coach)?

I like to embrace my club's entire history. Something Hawthorn supporters could learn a thing or two from... Speaking of which, I'm still awaiting those wooden spoon tallies.

There's a reason why Geelong Is the only team in the history of the VFL/AFL never to have finished below 12th on the ladder...

Now you could argue that a sports Dynasty doesn't involve necessarily winning every year, but that then opens the argument up to very much include 08.

I have. And it's a very loosely defined concept. And until you can satisfactorily state why 08 doesn't count, with specific reference to the definition, I will continue to count it. You do t have to, but again, you're in the minority. Champ.
