Re: Lisle on Lions Radar!

Re: Lisle on Lions Radar!

Why don't we have a go at Daniel Merrett? Package Lisle with pick 33 and maybe a little extra and we may have our "Monster" killer full-back in 26yo "Big" Sauce!

Re: Lisle on Lions Radar!

Someone just mentioned that Fev stated that he expects to be picked up in the PSD... if that's the case, i guess that would scratch us picking him up then because we have the chance of picking him up now through a trade with Lisle?

Why would we waste a PSD pick if we could get him thrown in as stake knives by offloading a contracted player to Brissy?

Fev also said he was surprised by the club who contacted him (possibly an existing strong forward line) and also it's been reported it was a top 4 team. So i originally thought it may have been us... however if we dont lock him up in the Lisle trade my speculation will then be for him to be heading to the Pies...

He is Brisbane through and through. Loves the club, i think is local and would definitely not agree.

Re: Lisle on Lions Radar!

There were games this year when he wasn't picked that were telling. It screamed of a selection committee who didn't trust him.

Anyone know why that was - because for me he did as much as you'd expect a guy with a handful of games under his belt to do....

I would have thought his kicking was a key area that held him back, both at goal and bringing it out of the back 50.

His field kicking is good. His set shots are woeful.

A few of those passes he did against Freo when he went outside 50 were good.

He'll be right

See everybody says that, I just don't get it......If that was the case then how the F8ck does Shoemakers get a game before him......To me it reeks of favoritism, Shoey has been afforded every opportunity this year to make it, from form, turnovers skill errors etc. While Lisle has been given SFA of an opportunity and when he did get a small opportunity did he actually play any worse than Shoey, was he poor ?

If we are basing his game on his skill errors lets see how they stack up against each other.

Shoey played 11 games
Lisle played 5 games.

.................................Shoey......Lisle
Disposals avg................13.7.......11.2
Critical Errors.................1.3.........0.6
Turnovers.....................4.2.........2.4

Re: Lisle on Lions Radar!

Seems a bit of overreaction in this thread to me, maybe because of the role he 'could' potentially play and the apparent need to fill it according to some.

Still think there's a whiff of it all being a bit too hard from Jordan's side of the equation, which may explain a few things.

*also pick 29 according to the age.

Exactly, with so many posters in here bagging Shoey week in week out and also Murphy i wonder how they feel knowing those 2 will be in our best 22 now that Lisle is gone...??

Stats are very selective, as you know. It's blatantly obvious that the decision makers at the club have made a judgement call on Lisle, based in decision making and disposal under pressure...not favoritism.

No surprise to me that those who have no real issue with us shopping Lisle around are a fair slice of Box Hill regulars.

Re: Lisle on Lions Radar!

I have only seen Lisle play live twice. Once in a pre-season game vs Richmond in Tassie. He played lead up forward and looked really promising. We won that game by a lot. The second was the Freo game when he sprayed a few. Like has been previously mentioned had he kicked straight half the clubs in the league would have been inquiring about him about now.

I would love to keep him but I think his best chances of string a few games together lay elsewhere.

Agreed 100%.

Mark me down as one of these too. I like Lisle but I can't see him breaking through and with the rise of free agency, clubs don't want blokes on the list on a 4th/5th year wage if they are not going to be playing AFL seniors.

Good luck to him but the pick being discussed is good value.

Re: Lisle on Lions Radar!

he's been very stiff, played well against dawes. until he got injured, i thought he was consolidating a spot. i see lisle and shoenmakers as even, keep lisle and let those two fight it out for a defenders spot next year. loser gets delisted or traded.

They may be selective stats but they are stats never the less and they are stats specifically directed at disposal efficiency.......which is supposedly the major flaw with Lisle.

They only reason I would trade Lisle is if we have a direct fall back in another trade, don't get me wrong.....This isn't a pick on Shoey session, I like him as a player

Sure the club has made a decision based on all that you have mentioned, it doesn't necessarily mean its the correct one.
