Perryman is good and he'll cover the loss of Houston pretty well.

I think we're generally fine aside from key forward.

We'll get a few back from injury that will pad holes. SPP, McKenzie and Finlayson for starters. SPP, Rioli and DBJ is a pretty good small forward line IMO.

I think we'll also need another AFL experienced ruckman on the list if Soldo leaves, just in case. Vis is solid but if Sweet missed significant time he's still very young and green to carry lead ruck duties.

Key forward is the problem though. Ratugolea should never play there, he's no good. Dixon is finished and should retire. Marshall has huge question marks over his health and probably should retire. I'd say if we can get Lukosius or another key forward, we should do so. Once again, we'll have to overpay, but at least this time it's not because we refused to develop anyone.

And hey, under a new coach who doesn't have us chipping hospital balls inside 50 as plan A, we might not even definitively need the 3rd key forward if we find a medium forward with marking strength.

This is a vital week for Port and the decision that is made in regards to Ken will have a massive say on our list management strategy going into October.

Personally think if Ken stays, we'll mortgage our future picks again.

If Carr is appointed, get a feeling they will go to the draft more rather than giving picks away

Our forward line is not good enough and has no plan.

Apart from Rioli and Georgiades, no one from tonight’s team can be trusted to take us to the next level. We must add Lukosius and we get back SPP. But we still need to find forwards who can apply pressure AND kick goals.

McKenzie? He's 32 and didn't play a single senior game this year. I'd put my house on him retiring.

Would be really handy if someone like Walsh went up a level with another pre-season.
We just need a little luck with someone like him.

We need another A-Grade mid. A little luck in the draft lands that. The mid we pick up in the draft will likely be ready to go unless it's Hotton who will be ready midyear.

I will trade Ratugolea. It was a mistake and we need to own it and do something about it. I never want to see him in the forward for Port again. Happy to see him in the forward line against us.

Dante who I would not ordinarily play in the same side as Sweet is a better option than Ratugolea. Dante's kicking for goal is at least 1st rate.

We don't trade Ratugolea he stays as an option and that door needs to be closed. I will give him away and wear some of the salery if that's what it takes to make it happen. We need footballers that can football not big athletes who can't.

Thank Christ Dixon is gone.

Luko would be more than handy as far options available and I'll be disappointed if he goes with the Crows.

Can someone be fr with me.

Does Perryman take us to the next level
Of course not. No more than any of our traded for players have done. We made it to losing prelim finals before Ryder, Dixon, Burton, Rockliff, Aliir, JHF, Rioli, BZT, Sweet etc., too. The only thing that will take us to the next level is a change of coach.

Key strong forward, goal-kicking electric small forward, and one more gun midfield are the needs.

I hope we dont recruit a gorilla forward. Itll just turn into kick it on his head dixon style mk2. We have been much much more dangerous with a dynamic roaming forward line with lead up talls, butcher is legitimately better than esava and is probably a better kick too and that says something. Unfortunately this administration is too proud to say they got it wrong and we’re stuckwith esava for the next few years. He will forever be an almost player and we will forever be an almost club under the current established tenure

I am still amazed that some dudes on here think Todd is a dud. He and MG are our best 2 KPFs by a country mile. Todd provides leads and can create opportunities further up the ground. He could have created a point of difference in our fwd line last night. Sad that his concussion issues may end his career and rob us of his talent.
