i think this allows us to pick Cadman if he is available, i just dont think he will be available, but it would give Lewis a 10-15 yr partner in the forward line.
Hey Davo, do you think he is a complementary type of KPF? I.e. good at ground level, high pressure, more dynamic as opposed to powerful. I know he is known for workrate and ability to accumulate.

How is that ludicrous? Why don’t you explain your view of the intent of the father son rule and how 100 games is a good measure of achievement of that objective.

100 games is arbitrary, but fair. Arguing whether that is the right amount of games is beside the point. I dont have an opinion on that.

I am simply pointing out that adding premiership players to the eligible list is ludicrous because it isn't fair, not even close. That said, if they brought it in (which they never will because its unfair) we would benefit greatly!

Cadman is a unique type of forward, he plays like a Jeremy Cameron more than a Mitch Lewis, he generally leads up the ground and has good ability to pick up the ball from the ground and marking like an intercept defender (which he used to be last year) the only knock on him is his goal kicking, at this stage it reminds me of early days Rough and Buddy where they went at 55-60% goal kicking accuracy, as far as pressure he is decent at that i guess, he is a more dynamic than powerful forward

heres a small example of his play against WA

Certainly dangle Mitchell and Worpel in the trade period and see what we can get for them, both are surplus to requirements for our future moving forward.
Mitchell Yes

Worpel is not surplus to requirements at all, you don't trade 23 year old developed midfielders when you have a young list and has the potential of Worpel

People just give up on players so easily

Its NORF vibes

I would argue that O'Meara has never been more damaging then he is currently
I agree, very impressed with JOM tough in the middle but plays as a target CHF when down there as the link man and seems to convert his set shots, also a great leader. He is I’m sure overpaid but where the list is at he is looking better than last year.

Mitch is the worry, Sam has moved him around rightfully but just isn’t amazingly damaging also tends to sky his kicks and handballs but is still solid option just nowhere near his 17/18 form. Loved him for years but Sam wants damaging footballers like Moore don’t think Titch falls into that and hoping his salary frees up so next year we can target a FA like Hopper etc

Understandable but still sad, reckon he still had good football in him. Hope he gets to enjoy early retirement with his family up at the farm.

Still getting the job done this year roaming around the ground as a tall target and safe pair of hands. Dependable mark and goal kicker - will be missed on field and off of it.

He is already on an 18 month deal

He is but I would be giving him a new one to give him two years at the end of this year.

He has great second effort capabilities and a fine distributor. Attributes we are not used to in Hawthorn ruckmen.

Would like to see him after two pre-seasons.
He is approx 3-4 months into a 18 month contract, All going well, Hawks will aim to extend this time next year.

If he was classed as a mid forward like he has been playing AFL player ratings would have him as the fifth best mid forward in the league.
As a mid not top 30, as a half forward not top 30.

Even when he is resting in forward line, opposition don't see him as a threat. 9 goals so far. meh

still not top 30 midfielder in comp

I've been one of JOM's biggest critics since the day he signed, but it's unreasonable to make this call this year.

The role he is playing allows Jai Newcombe TO be a top 30 midfield in the competition. It also helps Josh Ward and Dylan Moore look settled playing through the guts.

I've completely changed my expectations on O'Meara which has helped also. He's essentially doing what Trent Cotchin did throughout the Tigers dominant years. That role allowed Martin and Prestia to run riot throughout their finals campaigns.

I tend to think that Jai talent is why he is ranked higher than Tom & JOM.

Newcombe, Nash, Ward, Moore & Maginness are 2 way runners.

New coach is fixing the mess left behind and filtering out the very expensive liabilities.
