List Management - So Who Goes?

The decisions are getting tougher. Everyone agrees on Wiggins and Fisher, but after that it gets vague. In a year or two many of us will be wailing at some of the delistings that will happen.

I can't wait for that time - Over the last 7 years I'd have watched some terrible players stay on our list just because you can't practically delist 10 at a time.

The question with O'Keefe is, "Are we ever likely to?".

Good question and needs to be debated, but one quarter of O'Keeffe even at VFL level says more for the need to give him time than hartlett ever showed.

O'Keeffe has a snazzy left foot that delivers nice & long and he can do those stab passes too. If you look at this U18's pic and compare him to the frame he has now - when you see him in public - you could excuse some severe growing pains. He's gone from pencil to tank in 2 years and that can hurt sometimes.

i hope Fish stays but i think it will go:

- Wiggo retires
- Fish mature rookie or delisted
- T Bird traded
- Tiller delisted

ROK has upside and can fill a hole in the side while i don't see what Tiller brings to the side.

Hope Johnson stays and we keep Hadley.

I don't even know what's happening with Tex and Sauce anymore

I think fish and wigg are certainties and I think thornton will be traded for a 3rd rounder and tiller will go as well.

We will keep both sauce and walker.

I have faith in browne and think he can still become a good player for us. Like a couple of others have mentioned he may become a handy inside midfielder if given the chance.

I think if Brock had played a full year and performed then Hadley would be given his marching orders but with Brocks injuries then I think he will get another year.

Given the demise of the rucking options at Geelong, I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a huge play for Sauce. Ottens is all but passed it, Blake is no good and wants out anyway, Hawkins isn't up to it and West hasn't showed enough. They would prefer Jacobs to Hammer as he can go straight in as the no.1 from rd 1. Interesting to run through the Supercoach ruck points - there are a few teams without many obvious options incl. Hawthorn, Port, Ad, and notably St Kilda. Sauce may just have more currency than people realise!:D

We will delist more... but I'm with you about everything you have said

Upgrades of Rookies: Garlett, Ellard
Retain Rookies: Cachia, White, Casboult, Dare
Retain international Rookie: Touhy
Delist Rookies: Donaldson

I doubt we would retain Tiller on rookie list should he get delisted

I doubt Johnson will be offered a new contract

Personally I think Johnson gets a bad rap around here. Is no star and not in the best 22, but I will take experianced depth for another year. He was good before the wrist, and was good afterwards (still puzzled as to why he got dropped). A year contract extension seems reasonable

Now that the B&F is finished I wonder when they will come out and announce who will be delisted
It usually doesn't happen until after trade week these days. Wiggo might announce his retirement though.

Well none of that sounds particularly likely. Have been screening quite a few "insiders" across these boards and these are a little conflictive. Not sure we have been linked to Thursfield (outside the usual rumours, suspicions), Mckinley talking to us is a relatively standard event, Brock surely wouldn't even be on the table after what we paid last year, need for him to play a full year at least

I wouldn't have thought so either, but some posts are written in a way that give way to a feeling of some credibility.
Not saying it's right, just saying it's new.

Link to posters profile please?

Just placed on the main board from someone that purports to be in the know:

CARLTON
- Despite reports saying otherwise Will Thursfield is 100% set on joining the Blues. Any deal is likely to revolve around Jacobs/Walker and the pick they get with that. 100% guaranteed Thursfield will end up a Blue.
- Blues have met with Ben McKinley but he still hasnt decided which club he will join
- Blues have put Brock McLean up for trade even if they wont publicly admit they have

Sounds like complete bullshit. If we are so over McLean after an injury riddled year, who on earth would trade for him? Thursfield can't get a game in the 15th side, he is not worth anything that we might get for Jacobs or Walker.

Harker you've just quoted the biggest moron on BigFooty sorry mate. That guy is a known BS artist.

So at the moment it looks like:

Traded Out:
- Sam Jacobs
- Shaun Grigg !!!!!!*&^^*^%*^$&*(&U)
- Bret Thornton

Asking for a trade but likely to stay:
- Andrew Walker
- Setanta O'hAilpin

Delisted:
- Brad Fisher 50/50
- Caleb Tiller 50/50

Retired:
- Simon Wiggins

Uncertainties:
- Richard Hadley
- Steven Browne
- Joe Anderson
- David Ellard
- Rhys O'Keeffe

That is too many names for my liking :(
