Cunico has solved our wing problem IMO.

Blicavs is the Domsy replacement.

Crameri has been good at both AFL and VFL level and provides security for us up forward.

SavRat/Buzza have shown that application makes up for lack of experience and/or skill.

Hawkins is on the up due to the presence of a second big IMO.

Structurally we are looking good for the flag IMO and many questions have been answered despite our overall record.

PS. Finding a CHB and FB out of a steeplechaser and a decathlete is the definition of beating the handicapper!
yeah.. but.... but.... but Wells.. is no good right?!?!

Agree, Hawkins with tall support is not just playing well but awesomely well.
Very big numbers and goals over the last two weeks clearly supports this theory.
Quite impressed with Buzza's willingness to split packs and provide forward and ruck options.

I love your optimism... which is a nice way of saying that I don't agree with all of it.

You're dead right about Blicavs, though - he has been excellent. I'm not sure how to solve the problem of having him plus Stewart, Henry, Henderson and Taylor all in the one back fifty, though.

I think you're overstating the performances of SavRat, Buzza and Crameri at AFL level, that said. Crameri does a job, but five goals in four games as a permanent forward who doesn't find a lot of the footy is just serviceable, if that. The same goes for Buzza and Ratugolea's impact on a game - they are presenting and jumping at the footy, but it's not quite the equivalent of finding the footy and kicking goals.

There are still major holes in this list - the big one is, obviously, in the ruck. We now, I think, accept that we are going to lose the hitouts every week, and need to find a way to still win the ball out of the centre on a 50-50 basis regardless. There's also a need for us to find a small forward formula that kicks goals, but for the moment, it's working.

My tune hasn't changed, I'm actually more confident in our chances with each passing week.

Gold Coast may be worth having a look at. Must be a very unhappy club right now. They do have some useful talent though.

I have a feeling we’ll still ask the question about Kade Kolo. If we do we better only get him for a 3rd rounder, obviously his talent is better than that but considering his concussion issues + drop of form over the last couple of years anyway that’s all I’d give up for him. If he can get over his concussion issues then he could be a great get, has the talent, would be joining a great club culture + joining his brother who he’s very close with.

I’d also love Peter Wright but I’d say that’s very unlikely. But if the Suns fold you never know ;)

Only thing is a 4 letter word.... RUCK.

Wouldn’t touch KK now. He’s having real problems. Jake mentioned he is fearful for his future.

Wright might be worth having a crack at but wouldn’t come cheap. And i doubt any of our players would want to go play for a basket case. And they would want players, not picks.

I'd assume the medicos would have a serious look at Kade before any deals were struck, but more to the point, as much as the brotherly aspect is great, we are already overstocked for medium/tall defenders.

Peter Wright would be interesting. I struggle to believe he's still just 21. I do take your point about not wanting yet another pick, but the Suns will face exactly the same problem that they faced last year with the Ablett trade, and the year before with O'Meara - they want players, sure, but players (i.e. Luke Breust, etc) do not want to play up there.

They can want players over picks but who in their right mind would go there, except a young player in a strong team who is starved off opportunity and desperately wants game time.
Or a player who has a distinct, pressing and specific reason to live in Queensland, a la Lachie Weller. But that's it.

Remember all the noise over Luke Breust moving in the opposite direction to O'Meara? As if he was ever going to contemplate that.

They remind me a bit of the old Saints and the old Bears - picking up either the old players who were on their last legs for a bit of "leadership", or being the last-stop shop for players who were running out of chances at AFL level.

We've had a soft draw over the last month and a half. Don't let it fool you.

We'll know more in 8 days' time, that said. If we can't beat Richmond, on the spin from an interstate loss, without Dusty, then we're not yet ready to match it with the best IMO.

2 things. Game time and $$$$.

Obviously there is more opportunities to play at senior level up there and if Lynch leaves, they still need to pay 95% of the cap meaning that some average players will be on serious coin. Same thing happened at Melbourne for years.

So if your keen too make a career for youself the opportunity is there. Just don't expect a lot of success.

We might not win. That doesn't mean that with Taylor, Henderson, Cockatoo, Menzel, S.Selwood and Guthrie back things won't look different.

Only thing is a 4 letter word.... RUCK.

They mentioned a few ruckmen who are dominating the VFL that would be good for us on the TAC show. Pruess from North, Campbell from the Dogs and Longer from the Saints. Pruess would be tough to get, but the other two could be gettable.

There's also been rumours about us chasing Scott Lycett from WC.

I think Danger playing more time forward has been the bigger factor there. That's a result of getting Gaz and Tim Kelly. Buzza was poor yesterday - 6 disposals and 5 free kicks against. I'm not sure he holds his spot this coming week.

I'd love that! But he's an SA boy, so if he was going anywhere I'd expect it to be to Crows/Port who'd be looking for successors to Jacobs/Ryder who are both 30 now.

Yeah, the free kicks are a worry - but having that contested marking ability up forward (he managed three) and the ability to smash a pack a la SavRat doesn't hurt.

He is a tall who has only played eight or so games, I don't think he'll lose his spot this week.
