I hope he is rubbed out and the Hawthorn v Essendon game proves to be his last match as a player. What a brilliant way to go out!

Not that he'll retire, but I would've thought there'd be worse ways of going out than sparking up his side to get over an old enemy to make the finals.

I've not been a fan of Lloyd as captain ever. Great goal kicker, but poor leader. He might look like a goose as her runs around with his mouth open all match, but he's certainly not a dirty player - reading the comments of Hawks supporters insinuating it is laughable.

Hawthorn has a track record of being one of the dirtiest clubs in the game. Case in point:

Pity about Sewell getting knocked out - I hope he doesn't suffer any long term injury from it. It was unintentional, and those of you saying Lloyd lined him up are giving him too much credit. Yep, he'll probably get suspended for it...seems to be the way of the game these days.

You are going back over 25 years you fool. Roger Merrit? Duckworth? Every team had a handful of them 25 years ago.

So why do you hate Hawthorn so much, Jeff? Big kid in a Hawks jumper take your lollipop?

Actually that's pretty funny. I played for a team that wore that God-awful jumper.

No I don't hate Hawthorn, I hate cowards.

Nothing worse than someone that mouths off pointing fingers when they're safe from retaliation and doesn't back it up when given the chance.

Campbell looked like a right w***er yesterday and I couldn't help but laugh at his huff & bluff. When I read his comments after the game I just about pissed myself!

The bloke is a dead set tool.

Should Lloyd argue the fact he cannot recieve a fair hearing because the media have him drawn and quartered?

Every is going on about 4 weeks, the comments by Hawthorn have been disgraceful and he basically has no chance.

It's almost as bad as the featherweight headbutt to Gaspar in the 2001 finals when Wayne Jackson opened his mouth and made comments about the incident.

Matthew Lloyd performed the most cowardly act out there yesterday.

Timmy you really don't understand much about football do you? I doubt you've ever pulled on jumper TBH.

C'mon son, it's ok to admit it.

I would have thought Campbell Brown talking tough after the game was done and dusted, and after he was barely sighted in a big game, had it beat.

Just because you make a goose of yourself by saying a few things you shouldnt say doesnt make you gutless.

Deliberately lining up an unprotected opponent - especially when he's half your size - is a weak dog act.

When you walk onto the field you take on the big or the small, everyone is an equal...or simply don't walk onto the field....Timmy.

Still, it's not as if Lloyd took someone out as they were being helped from the field.....

Lining up an opponent in the head is a dog act, especially when he has eyes for the ball and you dont.

And of course they're not equal. If you have height and size over your opponent you have to take extra care that you apply physical pressure within the rules.

Talking tough after the fact is weak in my book. He had a half of footy to make things right in his book. He didn't.

Sewell may be short, but he's not exactly a small fry. It's not as if Lloyd cleaned up some skinny 18yo.

The bloke has never taken a backward step in his career and never mouths off let alone not backing it up.

You've just found 27 ways to say you don't like what Brown said after the game. I'll warrant I've seen Campbell Brown play more football than you. One thing he is not is a coward.

I can see why the Hawks fans and the Hawks players and staff are damned angry.

They were at a distinct disadvantage which cost them the match, due to the actions of Lloyd. I can see the merit in Essendon being down one player on the bench due to this action.

Lloyd will go, no doubt about it. you cant hit anyone in the head thats a given. No compliants or whinging here.

But some of what is being said is pure trype.

Lloyd DID NOT run off the line - he ran straight at the ball and never deviated. He didnt pick off anyone, if Sewell didnt pick up the ball (at the last split second), Lloyd would have got the ball. That is not picking somebody off. Campbell Brown knows all about this.

He was reported for rough conduct.

He will have to argue it wasn't reckless, as he was pushed into the contest to get that part downgraded as much as he can.

But, unlike Hawthorn, you wont hear Essendon tear up and try to have rules changes to get a player off. He will cop his right whack, like Franklin did.

Interesting that all the big Hawthorn mouths of last week now cry, when the shoe is on the other foot.

A bit like Brown, who after doing absolutely nothing in the hour post the incident, talks all tough after the game when there are walls in between him and Essendon players. An embarrassment that bloke, and he will have to live with the fact Hawthorn were scared into submission in that 2nd half.

Like John Kennedy did to Tim Watson in the 83 GF

So can I, one of the biggest premiership hangovers in the history of the game.

The "Ryan Schoenmakers made me do it" argument is as thin as the paper it will be submitted on.

That's not "copping your right whack".

You can't have it both ways.

Perhaps he didnt want to get reported and let his team down should be be required to play in the finals. Collingwood got sledged by Richmond fans for not getting sucked in a few weeks ago. A professional player tries to play by the rules so he doesnt let his teammates down. If Brown had gone the knuckle you'd all be having a go at him calling him a thug. He didn't, so you are calling him a coward instead.

Talking tough after the fact is just letting off steam. Its very embarrassing because he looks like a crybaby but its not weak nor tough, its just funny.

Maybe your boys will get the opportunity to have one. Or maybe not.
