Crawford was at no.51 - It was out of he and Scarlett for number 50 (I shortlisted 50, which actually was 51). I figured I don't have enough Tall defenders, and Scarlett got the nod because of that
Fair enough, i thought he was consistently better than N. Stevens but as i said, good list.

Bulldog1954 and worthy stole my thunder.

Johnson should be a bit higher, and O'Keefe shouldn't be in the top 50. Cross was the second most improved behind Rutten, with Gilbee and Tuck next.

Crawford definitely deserves to be included.

Nathan Brown obviously hasn't been included because he spent a large majority of the season out with injury. I would have thought Bruce did enough to qualify, though.

All in all, that is one of the best lists I have seen, Lonie. I don't really have a lot of negative things to add.

Well summed up.

yes, i guess i was a bit harsh on Brad Johnson who is such a consistent footballer, but the fact that O'Keefe really showed alot, and I am a fan of his, I couldn't help myself. I knew that was the one part of criticsm i would get, and it sure was.

Nathan Brown isn't in there, obvious reasons, because, it was hard to, you know, chuck him in there because we all know he would have been top 5 if he played the whole season. I was thinking of putting an injury list up but too much mucking around and finding a criteria. Brown played 10 games, Buckley played 11 games, maybe a criteria of missing half the season through injury, just so i can fit bucks in there.

I'd have Scarlett in my top 20, but apart from that nothing else really stood out.

Well, i am sure Scarlett is lucky to make the top 50 in this case. Top 20 last season, yes! but not this year.

milne isn't in the top 200 let alone top 50 but most names that should be in there are i suppose
Oh dear.

Deserves to be in there, second best small forward over the duration of the last 5 years.

Young Gun - Josh Drummond. Even though he was to old to be eligible for the for the rising star, in his first year of football he has shown that he is a skilful and classy player that will no doubt be a champion of the future.

yeah, for sure...but that is why i added the criteria, similar to the Rising Star (if not, exactly the same). Andrew Lovett would also get a mention in that case.

How did Joel 'uncosted possessions on HBF' Bowden get ahead of 12 players?

I think the main question is.

How did Joel Bowden win All-Australian selection?
How did Joel Bowden win the Best & Fairest?

Why? Even though i don't agree with both his great honours, he did have a very good season, through my eyes.

Again, another fairly good review/article/opinion submitted by Lonie from 50.
Everyone would have a different list but yours is fine by me.

Would Ben Rutten have been able to win the Rising Star if he'd played one less game?

Why wasnt Jed Adcock in the top-5?? he was No.5 in the rising star.

So Shane Tuck was better than Travis Johnstone and Lenny Hayes ? Hayes even averaged more disposals and I know who uses it better.

Generally pretty good Lonie, but despite Tuck's good year he's not a top 20 player. His workman like efforts not withstanding.

I might over-rate Tuck, and as said earlier O'Keefe, but this is my list, so quite simply it is from my P.O.V

John Worsfold - A top 50 doesn't consist of 10 people from each position. A top 50 usually consists of only a couple of defenders, and Matty Scarlett was lucky. Get over it.

Joel Corey was short-listed, but once again, he didn't make the cut for top 50 like 10 others who quite easily could have got in.

My young guns is in my personal view, and I love the big man Will Minson, so he just slots in before Adcock, who i stood up for during the Kevin Bartlett incident and NAB Rising Star.
