Autopsy Loss to Sydney - quite literally no words will adequately sum this up

Wait that doesn’t make sense?

If the game was free flowing for the last 1.5 minutes with no stopping play, would it have gone unpunished?
I think the AFL meant we wait until the free kick can benefit Sydney the most and then we will pay it.

As for the doctor infringement, you would think that common sense would have prevailed and if the doctor is in the play they call a stop to play instead of waiting until we kick it to a player so they can reverse it.

I also love in that last passage before the infringement that Greenwood clearly gets taken high, but it’s play on. Yes I clearly remember Sydney kicking a goal from a feee kick where no high contact was made.

This sport is an absolute joke the way it is run. You may as well say that 95% of close contests are decided by umpiring these days.

Got me ****ed why the interchange stewards wouldn’t just tell us we are at our limit and no more interchanges allowed surely that’s not to hard. That should be the punishment no more interchanges.

They told us at 10, 5 and they warn you at 1 but we took 2 off and replaced them with 2, so we didn't get the 1 warning. The onus is on the club to track it, surely someone can count from 5...

Did anyone catch that half time update on fox? The Jurno said the offical wasn’t able to warn the north bench that they reached their limit because interchanged 75 & 76 happened at the same time.

Well that just raises a shit load more questions. First one being, why didn’t we get warned that we only had one left when 2 guys were at the interchange gate ready to go on?

The last warning is at 1, but we got the 10 and 5 warning. It was our ****up, let's move on. We took 2 people and replaced them with 2 when we only had 1 left. It happened too quick to get the 1 warning.

So this was my post in the GD thread this morning.

About to start my 3 hour drive in the rain, spend $150 on petrol, parking, food and beer to see my team play a side we've lost to 69 times in a row. If anyone sees me come up and kick me in the balls, it will ease the pain.

Well, I've had a great day. Wandered aimlessly for 15 minutes after the game as my mate stormed off at the siren to catch a train back to Brunswick. Got my head together and smashed 3 angry pints at The Nixon, now I'm sitting in my car for the next couple of hours so I don't blow .05 on the 3 hour drive home. I'll probably punt away my Sportsbet account while I'm waiting and knowing my luck when I get home at midnight the dog will have died and the missus has packed up and left me.

**** my life.

PS, the offer to kick me in the nuts is still open.

Yeah. Doesn't make sense. So they made two, but were supposed to be warned at one? That should have happened anyway. This is a collosal cluster ****.

The last 2 happened at virtually the same instant
Then couldn't they notify us we've only got one left so we don't go over? Pretty f***en poor from the steward.

Any plans to grab a KFC Twister on the way home?

I'll say one thing, when (not if) we come good again, the redemption arc is going to make one hell of a good football film, even more dramatic and improbable and Hollywood than even the Dees rise to the top. Possibly the most entertaining ever.
Seriously.......can you simply f**king imagine a game ending like that, given the week North have had, and given we were showing we could play. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
As surreal as it gets.

Devastating loss, but proud to see the signs of what we're building.

The Sheezel and Wardlaw pairing is one that's hopefully going to define our football club. Both have the potential to be the best outside and inside players respectively in the entire AFL and it's going to be so much fun to watch both develop.

Career best performances as well from Bailey Scott, CCJ, and Eddie Ford.

My issue with the whole farce was why did they wait 40 seconds and let the ball get inside Sydney’s 50 before alerting the umpire?

I’m pretty sure it was after the Heeney goal so why not make the call at the centre bounce?

In other good news. I was very happy that there wasn’t even a murmur of a boo when Buddy got the ball. There was an absolutely unhinged, passionate North supporter just down from me in the standing area on the wing. He didn’t relent with the abuse for the entire game. He reached fever pitch when the Sydney player did his knee and the game was held up. It just goes to show the effect that this horror run can have on us. So sad.

Or, you can take a bloke off, but no one comes on. The punishment is that you play out the game with 17.

Had 16 clearances in the VFL against Casey today.
Which is great, but it doesn't matter. We need to find out if he can get his running ability (which was always low) back closer to where it was. The stand rule has opened up footy more than ever. His weaknesses are more exposed and he's lost a yard as well.

Correct me if I fantasised at the ground this but there was a centre line up at one stage in the late 3rd, early 4th quarter that had Sheezel, Wardlaw, Phillips and Powell at the feel of CCJ and they murdered the Swans in the clearance. What a joy this probable fantasy was.

Despite that... man I was proud. There's one or two we'll argue don't fit or belong but they were great. They looked like getting blown away and they kept coming back. If 80% of that team had played 30 more games they would never be in that situation to lose like that.

The game was a tonic for the week gone, the ending was just classic North.

This is wrong. We had 1 left and took 2, taking us 1 over and causing the infringement. If we missed our 1 warning because we took 2 at once, it would have been 2 down to 0. It was 1 down to -1, so that’s not the reason we missed a warning at 1. Maybe the warning happened, don’t know, but what you wrote is wrong. It was the reason we missed the 0 warning, but it wasn’t the reason we missed the 1 warning (if we missed it at all, we might not have).
