given he's out of contract i don't think essendon could have done any better than that. pretty happy - 3 picks inside the first 26.

I guess St Kilda could try and make him something, but who do they take out of their best 23 to make room for Lovett. Cos for a 1st round pick, I'd be starting him.

Well, they now have 2 first rounders and can sacrifice one for Burgoyne.

Wow pleasantly surprised he got a first round pick. He is quality, but I doubted his off-field problems and age would get that sort of pick. Although, McLean is apparently worth 11. Win-win for both clubs. We get two picks inside the top 20 to continue a climb up the ladder, and St. Kilda get a real line-breaker that will give them a chance to REALLY give next year a shake.

With Collingwood a chance to snare Jolly/Ball, Geelong are going to find it very, very tough to win another flag against their fellow top four rivals, particulary with the Bullies now having a real power forward.
