is that the standard retort on BF if you disagree with someone's opinion...troll troll

you guys said the same thing about Cerra, Neale, Langdon etc etc
they will never leave !!
I can promise you the second cerra was drafted we knew he was out the door. Langdon declared he wanted to be a 1 club player and the next year blakely ****ed his gf. Neale the only surprising one.

Langdon to Blakely. That’s a big downgrade in looks and footy talent. What a poor move.

Best bit? Blakely now has a lawn mowing business

sounds convincing if it was only 3...its not though

wouldn't be surprised if a freo player or 2 walks out of the club again
serong or brayshaw...could be used for Jackson
No chance. How funny. Brayshaw's contract expires at the end of 2025. He's on record how much he loves the club and isn't going anywhere. He has a ton of family in Perth too. Serong's under contract until the end of 2023 and openly talks about how much he loves the club too. They ain't going anywhere.

You sure are talking about Serong a lot on a thread about Luke Jackson, of course if he requested a trade Freo would consider it - but keep in mind Jackson's contract situation, it's looking incredibly likely that West Coast will get pick 1 in the PSD and Melbourne will be sweet out of luck.
Hard to see Jackson ****ing Melbourne if he leaves, but dream away.

They'll finish above North anyway.

He definetly wont do that to Melbourne. If he does actually leave though and chooses say Fremantle. What would you deem as fair if players like Brayshaw, Serong and Young etc dont wanna leave? :s

Eh - like I'd love a reality where West Coast get a gun for free? Not a dream of mine aha.

But pull the emotion out of it, if wanting to get back to Perth was his primary aim - the quickest way from point A to B is using the PSD if West Coast have a pick. It's just how the stars have aligned - why would West Coast be a bunch of good blokes and pay Melbourne freebies they don't have to? If West Coast weren't so unexpectedly tragically awful this year then it wouldn't even be a factor, and they'd be entering a bidding war with Freo to trade with Melbourne.

IF West Coast finish last and Jackson requests a trade to West Coast, Melbourne get nothing. If to Fremantle then I imagine Freo would play hardball and say run the risk of getting nothing at all if he goes to West Coast or the unders that Freo would pay.

Basically all in all, bad time for a WA gun to potentially want to go home and a WA team is a spoon contender.

Unless there is a time-sensitive reason to live near his family, IMO he would be mad to leave Melbourne right now. Should sign a two year extension then have a look at how WCE’s rebuild is going and see how wide Fremantle’s premiership window is at the end of 2024.

Jackson, like every player since Nick Stevens, would try and facilitate a trade.

There is ZERO chance he'd have the slightest interest in going to West Coast. Not sure why people keep repeating the same rubbish. He has zero contacts with West Coast and has an absolute ton with Fremantle. It's like saying Dangerfield would go to any Melbourne club if forced at the time of trading when he wanted to go to Geelong only. Luke also grew up not far from our training base is and he still has family support right near our training facility.

Yeah but at WC he can make more $$$, take on the main ruck role and get to pat Ozzie the eagle before each home game

Yeah the idea of him leaving for free is absurd. No absolute gun young player has ever left their club under those terms. It's about showing respect to those who helped you along the way too. Considering West Coast would almost certainly have to offer more than Freo to get him as he'll know WC are in for an extended period rebuilding their list and he'll want team success if he was to move there is more chance of Dangerfield returning to Adelaide to finish his career than West Coast getting Jackson.

Bullshit he can make more money. Your salary cap is stuffed for ages with McGovern and Kelly getting paid 2 million a year combined for the next few years.

He’d be with us for 10 years. You’re going to have players clawing for cash in coming years while we’ll be cashed up with where our lists are at.

F*** me why do people use the PSD as a threat?
To be honest I don't think a quality player will ever trade clubs via the PSD ever again. Kurt Tippet was the last one to do it and he received death threats as a result and was quite open at the end of the career the effect his decision had on family and friends. To anyone saying otherwise Jack Martin was not a star player by any stretch when he entered the PSD and he's move has turned into a total disaster for Carlton while Dawson wasn't traded for nothing by any stretch as a future first from Melbourne was only slightly unders.
