Rumour Busted Lynch to Melbourne

Its obvious Lynchy is chasing the money (total contract value) and fair enough to him. For that, I am not surprised that he would be interested in going to Melbourne (or any club that makes the highest offer). But it does surprise me Melbourne would be interested in him, given he is 30 and probs only has a max of 2 years left in him. Cant see the benefit of him taking other young players spots. Not sure he is the perfect mentor for the young guys either, by all reports hes a good bloke but not sure a football brain has ever been his strong point.

Do Melbourne supporters want him? Not sure if I was a Melbourne supporter I would.

Would be an excellent fit at at the Dees, a light bodied team with some talent .... never mind them going backwards last year, sometimes you have to go back to move forward. Put Clarke back in alongside Lynch and all of a sudden they have some muscle. Neeld in his second year will have the players doing what he demands.

I don't think he's coming to Melbourne, but I look at it this way (if he does come):

1. He is a premiership-winning player from a great club with a successful culture
2. He is an established player that can perform (although admittedly his best is behind him)
3. We need another big body up forward. Healthy duo of Lynch + Clark could cause damage. Both can push up the ground.
4. He'd be better than most potential forwards currently at the club.

Basically, he'd be better than probably 70% of the list. That, imo, is an improvement. It's not like we're a 10-game winning side with a few small holes to push for a flag. We are bottom of the barrel.

For the price we'd be potentially getting him at, it would be a great pickup. Can kick goals so he's a target at the very least.

But he's going to Collingwood.

Could have more than 2 years in him. Rarely gets injured and with less flying being based in Melbourne, he will have better recovery each week. Could see him go for 3 - 4 years in Melbourne if still performing ok on the field.

My info about Q stick

Carlton - >Judd spoke highly of Q stick in a list management meeting at Carlton
> willing to give lynch a 2 year deal

Collingwood - > Q stick reportedly happy with a move to collingwood
> if collingwood guarantee a spot in 22 every week
> pinch hit in the ruck and I have been informed by my source that when he asked Darren Jolly Personally face to face about Q stick the Thursday before the grand final Jolly said "he is coming to help me out"

Thats the one I'd be worried about if I were the Q-stick

That's basically players from the clubs talking him up, doing some cheeky persuasive manoeuvring to push him over the line to their side. He could end up everywhere. Money talks and imo he'll go where the best deal is. The "reports" of him wanting to be in the best 22 are probably coming from Collingwood, as if to say to him that they're willing to offer that if he goes there. The financial aspects of playing every game of a season might be enough to persuade him, but we really know nothing of what Carlton or Melbourne are offering. Although I'll be surprised if he doesn't end up a Pie. It would be epic if Melbourne trumped Collingwood for a free agent, although it won't happen. It's only Lynch but he'd be great for Melbourne imo.

FYI, along with Kerr, Judd is one of Lynchs best mates, hence I am not surprised Juddy is talking him up.
