These guys are just employed at the end of it all. It's their job to play football NOT their passion like it is for us. You can argue that all you like.

If you worked at the TAC you'd be sacked. Same as if you were caught smoking when employed by Cancer Council Victoria, they don't even employ smokers.

Spot on. Didn't Eddie say after the Schultz incident vouchers and portable breathalyzers would be made available to all players? Pretty silly by Morrison, especially after the publicity by the fuzz of a "ring of steel" encircling the city the night before.

I would suggest that the TAC could not get better exposure than having a Collingwood footballer sacked for drink driving - it tells everyone that no matter who you are, this is the wrong thing to do.

PS Collingwood should have had a clause written into players contracts wrt this type of thing.

From Collingwood's communication manager...

The Collingwood Football Club advises that on Saturday night, player Chad Morrison was breath tested in Richmond and returned a reading of 0.093. He received an on the spot fine of $314 and has had his licence cancelled for 6
months.

The Club is extremely disappointed with Chad's conduct as he should have blowen 0.1. Collingwood has a community partnership with the TAC and has advised them of the incident and they have arranged for a party with plenty of booze to celebrate.


A further statement will be issued after the limbo dance. No further comment will be made until that time.

Morrison played quite a few senior games.

I understand what you are saying, but I would tend to think that having this issue strewn across all of the newspapers tomorrow - with countless people expressing their concern and calling for Morrison's sacking - will put the issue at the forefront of the public eye. Even though it is a bad thing that has happened it is something that people take notice of.
