How Fagan survived after 2020, 2021, 2022 is beyond me. Even with last season GF appearance, I was sure he wouldn’t make it.

He proved me wrong. I know Finals are hard. Yet, I’m not fully convinced. He needed two miracles after finishing 5th to win.

Bomber Thompson got there in his 8th season after surviving a review at the end of a very disappointing 7th.

Damien Hardwick got there in his 8th season after surviving a very disappointing 7th.

Chris Fagan got there in his 8th season after missing the flag by this skin of his teeth in his 7th.

Ken Hinkley narrowly missed — minor premier and lost a home PF by a kick — in his 8th season after a coordinated press campaign deriding his critics after a very disappointing 7th, and has gotten further and further away since.

It’s like we exist in a parallel realm that kinda sorta is the same as normality, but the usual laws of physics don’t apply.
