I gotta say it, Richmond saved the ****ing series....
Think about it, had the GF been between Gee/Port/Bris.......NONE are "featured" club in the series...the series would have been a ****in' fizzer had Richmond not been the last one standing.

No, not #Richbias at all, it was the best possible outcome as far as the producers were concerned.

Those conversations happen all the time at footy clubs and in elite sports. Eg It was the same feedback from Gary Abletts teammates that caused the big spike in his performance.
Coaches do it all the time. If they can’t handle criticism in front of their teammates they won’t make it.

Nah, this is different. Granted there is probably other stuff that hasn't been shown that might give it greater context but the constant questioning of him about how he's going, hows he coping etc by Cameron and Hayes and then in front of the leadership group as well - the conversations might be ok but he's going about it in the completely wrong way. And you can tell it's not helping Coniglio, I feel sorry for him as he doesn't seem to have the support he needs. Where are Davis and Ward two ex-captains to have a chat to him and lend him support. He has the look of someone who was chucked in the deep end and is drowning.

I wonder if it would be better if all clubs were featured.

yes...I've found he always cuts a lone forlorn figure, lost, helpless...where the Fk were the other leaders to lend a bit of support ?...unless the producers deliberately wanted to portray him this way for a bit of theatre.

Thankfully he learnt to swim towards the end of episode four that just finished watching. Really enjoyed hearing him more animated and fired up. That was what he seemed to lack before. If he does more of that he will be fine. Players around him seem to feed of it too.

If they did, it worked. Was feeling sorry for him and now happy for him at end of episode four. But the producers got no say on how he actually presents himself. They can only portray something that way, if they noticed it themselves about his style as the leader of his team. The contrast between him and Sloane was massive in the early episodes.

Let's flip, any of those golden geese at GWS even coachable?

How many have mongral and work ethic about them? Where's your rookie and pre season draft picks who push the standards and work?

Where's your Kane Lambert, Jayden Short or Liam Baker?

A bunch of entitled w***ers with natural talent, who are all so overbearing with their ego, its impossible for a coach to coach them.

There was a time Dusty would've been considered uncoachable but look what a good people leader has developed.
Cameron's style seems old school. Praise in public, criticise in private is a quote from the great Vince Lombardi that is equally adaptable in sports and business.
As someone who has been a suburban footy coach for many years and also a people manager in business for over 25 years, I can tell by the hang-dog expressions on his players faces that they are equal part scared and resentful of him. This way doesn't build respect, it builds fear.

isn't it weird tho that after the game (v Melb) and yes, Gil declared a halt to the entire AFL comp...until further notice...that WC immediately got stuck into the beers ? in the locker room and then out on the oval...
WTF? It was their last game of AFL for months. Everyone knew at the time the layoff was going to be for weeks. I had no problem at all with them sharing a few beers on the ground after the match.

Could feel the tension in the scene where Crouch was copping it in the review meeting for not being defensive enough, not working hard enough without the ball.

Sloane has been impressive, as has Dew. The standouts for me so far.

Peggy is underwhelming. I can only assume she has great commercial skills, because she has the personality and gravitas of a garden gnome.

AFL is a scripted production confirmed.

exactly...like they say in the industry, you couldn't have scripted it any better...like if it was Gee/Bris/Port...do you SUDDENLY/ABRUPTLY switch the storyline to those team when they were non-existent up to that point ? doesn't work.

(only Rich and WC would have ensured a storyline right to the very end)
