A stable side that can win now, but also build towards the future. Its no mistake that the Swans have made 9 out of the past 11 Finals Series, made 3 Grand Finals and won a Premiership yet rebuilt our squad at least 2 times in the process. You DON'T need to bottom out to rebuild you just need to be smart in how you trade and draft and the Swans have done just that in the past 15 years.

Why arent sydney looking at gardiner he is only 27, was once a number one draft pick and west coast are willing to throw him away...and sydney could settle him down look at Barry Hall and Tony locket for example

Gardiner is a menace, and idiot and a loose cannon. He is trouble so I don't think we should touch him.

IMO he is overrated. Do you remember his perfromance in the 05 GF?

Lol, a performance easily forgotten.. he didn't do anything.. except get a few kicks in the forward 50 and then him missing all the shots on goal he had..

Yeah exactly, a very poor kick of the footy and very injury prone. I would prefer Everitt over Gardiner. And speaking of Everitt here is the latest news just in case you have not seen it already.

Sydney and Hawthorn have taken a step forward as they look to strike a deal for veteran ruckman Peter Everitt.

Swans coach Paul Roos did however back away from his assertion earlier in the week that the club's first and second-round draft picks would be off the table in any negotiations.

Speaking from the NAB AFL Draft Camp in Canberra, Roos said the club wouldn't give up its first-round pick in a draft regarded as the strongest in years, but may be in a position to do a second-round pick.

Roos also denied suggestions the club will be forced to trade away premiership players to fit Everitt in under the salary cap, citing that Leo Barry and Michael O'Loughlin will go onto the veteran's list and Paul Williams has retired this year, which will leave them pretty well placed.

So it looks like Roos is not willing to give up pick 15, good on you Roosy.
