That's right, Mick Malthouse muststay. He is doin us all a favour by drafting all these Clokes and Shaws, giving the magpies a guaranteed plan for defeat.

And putting all his ruck strategy into Josh Fraser, was just brilliant. Excellent plannig by the master coach.

I look forward to opening the paper every week and seeing Collingwood at the bottom again. It really will make Monday mornings worthwhile.

I know it must have been hard in 02 and 03 when they kept winning Mick, but you can blame Tony Shaw for that.

I feel for any Club, and their supporters, when they lose their ruckman to injury.

We have had it happen to us too many times, and I don't wish it on anyone.

As much as i would not have been disappointed to have seen one of the clokes at richmond, I'm delighted they all ended up at collingwood and take up 3 valuable places. They are all one dimensional types who have done nothing in junior ranks to suggest they are gonna be superstar players.

Collingwood have gone hell for leather to get all three of them for one simple reason. The stick it up richmond. Well, from what ive seen of the clokes so far and how one dimensional they are, im damn glad collingwood is stuck with all three of them.

Mark my words though. In a season or two, one of them will be at another club. Probably Jason is my guess.

As for the shaws, pffft.

You would love Cam Cloke at Richmond. Travis is an unknown quantity.

Jason will be on an AFL list for two more years, max.

I'd like to see any club in the league that has every single one of their talls better than either Cameron or Travis Cloke in terms of potential, or in the case of Cam, runs already on the board. The fact is, they're still quality prospects that are worth having on a list. It's not like they would've been left alone by any club if they had the rights to them through father-son. We went hard to bring them in, but it's not like we threw a packet of money at them, we just made sure the parents knew that we were interested in the family concept at Collingwood.

The younger Shaws have yet to play an AFL game, and are only in their second year, so I don't know what there is to bag about them. Rhys has been disappointing, yes, but again, hardly the worst player in the year. Had an excellent year in 2002, and most of 2003, and still occasionally pops up with a good tagging game against speedsters like Judd and Akermanis.

I just find it entirely hypocritical for fans of a team like Richmond to be criticising who they have on their list, when Richmond has Matthew Richardson. That's all that needs to be said. Richo is a team cancer, and I honestly can't see Richmond being all that good until they don't need him any more, or he retires, and not only does he make the team worse with his childish antics, he's getting a boatload of money.

I'd take all 6 of the Cloke/Shaw boys on my list, considering they'd probably come to the same price as Richo combined.

Richo may be a cancer according to you but he's torn collingwood a new ahole on a dozen or so occasions so if that's all he's remembered for i'm happy. The guy has missed 4+ seasons due to serious injury and still managed to top our goalkicking on 10 occasions, kicked almost 700 goals, topped the afl marking for a few years and bled for this club more than anyone on the current collingwood list bar buckley. One of the reasons he's hated so much by the likes of you is because he's so unpredictable that on his day he can win matches off his own boot and make you pull your hair out.

Richo is one of the greats. A character of the game.

As for Cam cloke, WHAT THE HELL HAS HE DONE TO EARN SUCH A BIG RAP?

IITB you keep saying this. What do you base it on though? Seriously, what have you seen of Travis? Why is he one dimensional? He has a big kick and he is athletic for his size. He has played CHB, ruck and key forward in juniors and already has had some match time since arriving at Collingwood in a couple of roles. He's probably still growing too. Whether he becomes a quality player depends on development from here but he isn't one dimensional any more so than at least 90% of AFL talls. If Travis is one dimensional which tall players aren't?

As for Cameron, as they say, I like the cut of his jib. He is big strong and aggressive. He can take a mark and he can play the crash ruckman role we lack. The guy has played a handful of games as a 19 year old and in that time has played CHF and ruck. He isn't Wayne Carey but who is?

Jason has some problems. He is too slow for his height and a poor kick.

Have you seen Brayden or Heath Shaw play at all?

In the end if all these players turn out to be no better than the average second and third round draft picks how has taking 3 talls and 3 smalls at that price been a bad move? If one is a gun we are in front. If we get a quality tall and a quality tall from the lot of them we will be laughing. Anything more and it's a great return.

As for sticking it up Richmond, you blokes do a good enough job of that on your own. We honestly don't worry about Richmond these days. There are serious football clubs to contend with. Now that you have returned the board that brought you a wooden spoon and a place in the breadline we save our sticks for a resurgent Carlton, the ever reliable Essendon and the new rivals from across the boarders.

Oh, and stopeedie, good to see you back on our case. I was worried you had left us form some new upstarts like St. Kilda or something.

Like I said in my original post which you obviously didnt read properly, if one of the clokes landed at richmond i would not have been disappointed but the fact all 3 of them have been lumbered onto collingwood also makes me happy.

How many talls are on Richmonds list?

Mark, you will always defend them no matter what so what's the point. The fact is the clokes take up 3 valuable places on your list and they are all of the same type of lumbering player. You have hedged your bets too much.
That's all im trying to say.

And as for our board, well thats something we can discuss till the cows come home. The bottom line is we had a coach who promised the world at the start and came from your wooden spoon club and completely wrecked our list which led to our financial demise. The current board was returned because there was no viable alternative. Pure and simple. Read the stories and absorb the facts before shooting your load. Plans have been put in place, endorsed by the afl, and the club will turn around.

And by the way, considering you have 42mil to contend with, its a shame you dont spend it on serious matters like buying a decent player or two when you have the chance, ie nick stevens and nathan brown. This is why once again you will be in the bottom 5 category this year just like you were last year and maybe worse.

Travis one dimensional????

:D :D :D

Bookmarked.

He just bagged 5 goals against Box Hill in three quarters on the weekend in only his 3rd (?) hitout this year.....I think we'll have him happilly, thanks.

Defend them? I like the look of Cam and the sound of Travis. I don't know if they will be guns. I am defending taking them for 2nd & 3rd round picks not defending them as such. At the price it wouldn’t be hard to get a good return. What I am asking of you is what you've seen to base your opinion on because it doesn't accord with what I have seen, heard and read. Particularly Travis being lumbering or one dimensional.

Well we didn't warn you for no reason yet you still renewed him early. As for your financial demise, the reality is that has been done before and this time around was 20 years in the making. Frawley didn't do it a couple of successive boards did.

I happen to be well aware of plenty of the facts. Probably more than you. I know one of the alternatives.

We both know you can't buy players. As for spending money I am with you on that. I think we should up our spending on spotting talent by $2m per year. Forget the deals. Get the best talent at the draft available at your pick every time and you will dominate the competition forever.

Well youve got nothing to worry about for the next few years hey? Youll be right at home picking up the likes of chad morrison and leon davis, ryce shaw, shane o bree etc etc

hahahahahahahahahahaha - Chad's a dud now is he???

You're pathetic mate, seriously.
