freo have 7-9 potential A graders on their list, they can probably win a premiership with Lyon.

Most clubs have that many potential A graders. St Kilda had close to that many actual A graders during 2009-2010 and Lyon still couldn't coach them to kick a decent score in a final. Not sure why he'd be much different at Freo.

A full year out of players like Pavlich, Mundy, Sandilands, Barlow, Ballantyne etc and the Dockers will be definately pushing for top 4 IMO. I hinkthey have a very good list and only injuries killed them this year.

PLus they have good young players in Zac Clarke, Morabito, Pitt, etc.

While Lyon is one of the best tatical coaches around he plays a defensive game style. The list freo have should be pushing for top four next year. Needs to change the gameplan to more attacking.

Wonder if Pavlich will play forward. Fremantle wouldn't have done their delistings and whatnot with Harvey if they knew he wouldn't be coaching. I'd say this is very recent. Hope the footy show break some news tonight.

Could end up being a blessing in disguise for the Saints like it has at Geelong after Bomber left. Getting in a new voice with new ideas might refresh the old blokes. Ross seemed to stick with veterans more than most coaches so it could also open up opportunities to unearth some young guns

On topic, bold move by the Dockers it really could set the standard for their future and conversely commiserations to the Saints to lose Lyon is a real kick in the guts.
