Misleddud and Ali were not doing their jobs in dobbing on Rendell. He probably said something that was offensive to them, but their job is to act on this in terms of making life better for indigenous players, not tipping Rendell in. How do they expect to receive such frank feedback in the future?

These new revelations just prove he aint up to the job. Dean Rioli has now come out and said he is a poor representitive for indigenous players.

Sounds interesting:
- Thomas writes the story knowing Neeld will deny it and will sue Thomas unless he reveals his source;

Rendell resigned becaue he understood he couldn't remain. It seems Matt is far more realistic than a lot of the posters on here who really have gone over the top on this issue.

Rendell resigned because his CEO failed to support him after well intentioned but potentially offensive comments. This is the part that frustrates me with Trigg - it's easy to say he was backed into a corner by Demetriou however at some stage in our lives we find ourselves in a situation where taking the easy option (exiting Rendell) should be outweighed by taking the right option (supporting your employee, offering counseling etc). Trigg took easy.

I have lost a lot of respect for Trigg out of this, and if I was a sponsor I would be more inclined to take my sponsorship away after Trigg's lack of leadership than if he had stood firm. I am personally embarrassed by our our clubs handling of this issue!!

In defence of Misfud, he may not have been lying.
In the same sense that Grant Thomas was not lying but was guilty of spreading unsubstantiated information...
If Mifsud was told this by a Melbourne player, for example.
Journalists make a living spreading muck like this; Mifsud should have known better than to spread rumours to journos, even an old mate like Grant Thomas.
So IF he was told this story by a Melbourne player he shows a naive lack of judgement in telling GT - hardly the same as being a malicious liar as many are making him out to be.

But at the very least this latest incident shows misud operates with a substantial amount of bias and it gives more creedence to MR's belief that he was taken out of context. Mifsud obviously only has one eye open when doing his job and is seemingly anxious to jump on anything his simple mind perceives as racism. He's a simpleton hired by an inept AFL. Demetriou is total and utter failure. Bring back Wayne Jackson!

Mifsud clearly has a problem where he sees a racist bigot hiding within every whitey; and consequently he finds racism and hatred in basically any situation involving aboriginals.

It's obvious - he did it to Rendell, and now he's heard about a meeting within the Melbourne Footy Club DESIGNED TO HELP THEM SUPPORT JURRAH, and he's framed that as being racist.

It was in Mifsud's best interest (personally) to portray racism within the AFL. He nearly got away with it.

He sensationalised his conversation with Rendell claiming that he was retrospectively offended and then all but made up the Neeld story. I am just really glad we caught him out. He did a lot of damage in a very short time, but he will not be the last to try this shit.

Former Indigenous AFL player Dean Rioli says the Rendell and Neeld incidents proves that Mifsud can't be trusted to keep private conversations behind closed doors.
Rioli, who played 100 games for Essendon, echoed King's comments that the game's Indigenous community had lost faith in Mifsud.
"Everyone I speak to (say) he's very untrustworthy," Rioli told Melbourne radio station SEN.
"If you've got someone that's untrustworthy, you can't resolve anything privately and then you've got a serious issue.
"If he's going to run to the media every single time that someone comes to him with a question ... I wouldn't go and speak with him because I would be afraid that it would go straight to the headlines."

The club did want to keep it in house while investigating but Mifsud and AFL leaked story to the Melbourne media on Thursday after Crows were told Wednesday - then on Friday AD CEO goes on radio with full on rant
