I’m watching both AFL and SANFL teams and for the life of me can’t work out how players like McHenry are continually selected above the likes of Dowling or even Peds let alone trying Curtin.

Is Nicks watching the sanfl?
They select based off games played. They look at the previous sunk cost that has been invested into mcspudry and care about the "optics" of incorrectly investing so many games games on a player and then being honest and saying he isn't up to it. Instead they continue to waste even more games on him instead of being honest and playing an inform player such as Dowling. Its lunacy what they are doing. They clearly dont care about results and care solely about optics and protecting the incompents at the club who need to be sacked. They care more about looking stupid than playing a better team that has a better chance of winning while developing our list. Then they can put all the blame on the players and continue to protect the clowns who have destroyed our list such as Roo, Reid, Ogilvie, Kelly, Silvers, Nicks and our assistant idiots. Until they are all shown the door along with our board we are tredding water with these idiots playing smoke and mirrors while the switched on supporter base knows exactly whats going on.

Something like that would take a ton of leg work to pull off and there's no way we're in the process of doing that after committing to Nicks for two more years only a couple of weeks ago
I hope we have some board members going rogue.

I love this from Nicks:

"Billy's playing some good footy.... At SANFL level"

"
If a player at lower level is ready to go, they will come into our side, if they are able to play and live the values that we need to live"

The condescending arrogance.

How are the players still supporting this bloke?

I think this is the beginning of the end

It shows the pressure and exasperation on him, and the answers he doesn’t have

He’s starting to crumble.

But I don’t think he’s done a good job, and that he never has done. He’s been a dud from day 1. A Mark Neeld, Brendan McCartney or David Noble level dud.

We as a club, and a board so desperately wanted to believe in him we talked ourselves out of the evidence before our eyes

I don't think people realise just how good Tex has been in the last few years.

Not just the goals but goal assists and score involvements. Without him we definitely win the spoon again in 2021 and probably not far off in 2022.

In pretty much every single win over higher ranked sides he's been our best player.

He's shielded us from just how bad everything else is.

Like Joe Root scoring mountains of test runs for England.

I would love to know precisely what each of those Board members apparently brings to the table.

What skills, knowledge, connections do that have that can translate into a winning AFL side?

I wish I was on the board and bought a few of you along with me. We could solve all the problems, Sanders, Kane, Slippery, Moogle, Relapse and myself.

I’ve always thought why wouldn’t they allow a member into the coaches box every game, so the member could say “fellas, can you see what I’m seeing?”

If we had a 10 win season, maybe.

Regressing back to the bottom four is untenable however. I'm guessing he gets sacked with a month left in the season.
I agree he wouldn't survive bottom 4. The issue is there's plenty of scope for the team to end up on 9-10 wins without significant improvement. There's at least 6 more games on the fixture where we'd go in as clear favourites. Win those and get an upset or two and It'll be a lower position than last year but might be enough to save Nicks.

I think for him to get sacked there would need to be some truly noncompetitive games or a bunch of losses against bottom four sides. This week for example, or in the block of games against WC/Hawthorn/Richmond in a few weeks.

Me or Kirky?

I'm doing one tomorrow with another poster on this board.

He is certainly the worst coach we have granted this much grace too.

Our bottom 3 coaches

  • Shaw
  • Sanderson
  • Ayres

Nicks I think comfortably sits in that group. It demonstrates a complete failure of our board to recognise his failures. It feels like they are ignoring his failures for PR and a roll of the dice that he improves. Which goes against everything the review stood for.
When the end came for Ayers it wasn't pretty but his record is way better than Nicks and Shaw.

Yes, he said we showed signs, returned to how we want to play, Melbourne very strong side, then when we beat Carlton he used how we played against Melbourne and Carlton as we had some momentum.

Today he’s saying we only won by 1 kick against Carlton, basically saying we didn’t perform that well.

The bloke has no ******* idea what he’s said, saying and constantly contradicts himself. He’s Hinkley’s apprentice without the minor round wins.

A complete fraud.

Seriously against a side who is 5-1 and on a ground we had lost our previous 7 games.

He is literally clueless.

Tex on any level is Elite.

If he hadn’t done his ACL he would have even been better.

Sorry Kane think he was referring to me.
All good.

More enjoying good food & wine the better.

I missed last week's game for a De Lisio wine tasting. Have you tried before? Really enjoyable Fiano, Pinot Grigio, Anglianico & Krystina Shiraz.
