Silvers is all in on Nicks, he is not getting sacked this year. Publically backed him multiple times and gave him an extention. Half the reason he won't sack him is for Silver's own ego.

Nicks isn't the core of the problem jus the result of it. Olsen, Ricciuto and the bankrupt culture are the problem. I remain amazed that the Women's team have remained immune from it. Probably because the boys club keep out of that part of the club.

I’d have the first two as 50/50. I didn’t have them playing finals 2 weeks ago. But also didn’t gave them beating Blues away. Got them 8th in by half a game over GWS. I select draws a bit, so reality is they’ll need 2 wins from those games.

There is that glaring obvious answer there as to how our women's team has remained highly competitive at worst since they were created and the men's side has done nothing but generally lurch from failure to failure over the last 25 years.

IF Nicks is staying, which at the moment appears to be the case, he needs a Balme above him telling him where he's going wrong.

Problem is, will Nicks heed Balme's advice?
Especially wrt selection, rewarding mediocrity (Murphy, Smith even Laird), not playing favourites with Senior players, showing faith in the newbies and giving them games to find their feet.

I can't see it myself (in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Balme said NO, after a chat with Nicks), but hope I am wrong.

Even Mark Bickley said this morning if we play like we did on the weekend in the last four games Nicks is gone. He's the most positive person when it comes to coaches.

I’ve done this disheartening exercise before … look at his wins outside of SA …. Look at his wins against teams that finished inside the 4/8 at the end of the year.
