So let me get this straight - the BF pecking order is as follows:
  1. Worked in a senior position at an AFL club
  2. Executive at a multimillion dollar business
  3. Everyone else
  4. pjcrows
Please keep this in mind peeps as you assess each person’s posts.

All jokes aside, it's relevant to the discussion and no one is suggesting there's a pecking order, but of course there is more insight about certain topics if a poster has been exposed to it.

You forgot Marty36 anyway.

That's right. And moderator is just above those four

Are you on annual leave?

No, I'm just ****ing around while all my workers are racking in my cash.

But it does get a little silly. I get the venting... but some of the ranting and ridiculous claims made in here (followed by cult like acceptance and torch and pitchfork response), are just crazy. Someone gets a little bit of information and all of a sudden we have this full blown scenario filled with a great deal of assumption based on very little actual fact.
No doubt it is over emotional. But it is what it is, I'm not going to get upset over some people getting more/less upset than me.
It's great to talk about all things footy, but rumours
I’ve always been a fan of the odd “phantom shit” and could tell you some great yarns about the unusually places my mates an I have left a nasty suprise for an unsuspecting member of our group over the years... the old camp coffee mug on a surf/camping trip was always one that drew plenty of laughter... but I can say that I’ve heard Chad Cornes is actually a great bloke.

Mates of mine that still live in adelaide (I moved 15 years ago) know chad through the adelaide music scene... these lads arent affiliated with footy at all.. Seaview Road Boardriders and members of various adelaide bands. I’ve known them all my life and they are like brothers to me. They became mates with Chad after I left adelaide and they’ve told me he’s a decent bloke and I trust their word on that... they dont hang around bloke’s that are dickhead’s...

Hate him if you will, and you may have met the guy and formed a differing opinion of him through his actions when you did, but I’m just saying what I’ve been told by some of my closest mates...
I would assume based on your username that you are mates with the Bearded Clams guys.... great band back in the day

I think one of the most disappointing things in all this is that some people in here seem to get pleasure out of spreading damaging hearsay (without actually knowing all the facts), knowing full well the pathetic likes of Rooch et al lap it all up, and regurgitate it in the press as fact.

List of things damaging the Adelaide Football Club right now:

1. The AFC football department
2. The AFC football department
3. The AFC football department
4. Media reports (many of them factual) and the AFC’s inability to manage them
235. BigFooty posters

Only Eddie has been there longer

I believe Chapman is the second longest serving president

Would have to be one of the longest serving presidents not to preside over a premiership.

Would almost certainly have to be one of the longest serving presidents to preside over draft sanctions.

How long are we going to be stuck with Chapman?

I can't help but think he's there for wrong reasons.

For a Chairman he knows a lot about the on-going operational details which isn't what he should be doing.

It also conjures up a picture in my mind of him hanging around the club for ego purposes. It's just outside speculation but I feel like he gets a lot out of it, ego wise.

I assume everyone here wears "I am a big deal on the Internet" t-shirts IRL

2) Roo is lying about Mitch earning more than Bryce. He is trying to make AFC look better in public eye and screw McGovern. Mitch's manager also lying publicly saying Mitch is happy. Distinct possibility Mitch will be stuck there for rest of his contract and it does not look good if it appears he is not happy. You would have to be brain damaged to believe Roo that McGovern (up and comer) is being paid more than Gibbs (established star poached from another club). Just because Roo could play footy does not mean he is honest with the media. His interest is in protecting Crows image with the public.

5) Hass is a young, egocentric know-all who rejected protocols established by older, more qualified and experienced practitioners.

Okay, let's just assume this is all true...

On point 2, what is it with these young guys commanding massive wages?! Yes McGovern is an up and coming star, yes he is a very unique player with a unique combination of skills, but has he really achieved all that much to be commanding massive $$$? Plays as a 4th string forward, 5th if you count Betts, in a side that moved the ball quick which was to our forwards advantage. Has struggled with injuries and fitness, but we've stuck through thick and fat. Yet here he stands commanding big $ over dead set A grade superstars in players like Gibbs?! Turn it up...

However....Gov's personality doesn't strike me as that money hungry type, so I find this all hard to believe.

On point 5, have heard the exact same through a poster on here who knows a current player. I've touched on it before and said that I don't want to bag a complete stranger, but I haven't heard the most glowing things about that certain individual.

The Talia contract also has me scratching my head (if it were true). Again, doesn't strike me as the type to be holding the club to ransom for that sort of money, and if so, why did we sign off on such a ludicrous figure? Superstar lock down defender, but lets be honest, who deserves to be earning 800k if you cant consistently hit a target 30m away?

I would be very surprised if this was true. It implies a level of sophistication and effort towards social media that Clubs (to my knowledge) don't possess and don't care to possess.
You buy apps that does this quite easily. In fact is built into most modern CRM platforms like Microsoft Dynamics and salesforce. I'm certain the crows use Dynamics.

You literally punch in keywords and it goes off and monitors Twitter, Facebook, etc. and creates alerts and notifications. It allows you to respond to that post instaneouesly or gather data about sentiment.

It's been around for quite sometime and the government use it alot to monitor public sentiment especially after announcing policies.

It's quite cheap and easy to use.

Using a tool like that I don't disagree with. Creating fake social media accounts to try and 'steer' the public discourse was what I was referring to.

There's always going to be a shit team who offers a player way more money then they've currently worth based on potential. The club expects them to ignore that extra couple hundred thousand a year and stay within our pay structures, increasingly players have shown they're less willing to do so, especially when they can go back home AND get extra cash.

So either you need to revamp the way we pay blokes and shell out big cash early on the Lever and McGovern types and hope they work out and cut the fat from the middle of our list, or we could try and draft as many SA'ers as we can and hope they want to stay in Adelaide.

Tom Boyd hadn't shown he was worth anywhere near what the Bulldogs offered him, didn't stop them from doing it though.
