Someone else can post the article, I really can't be bothered.

This man was our saviour, our hero, and its just not right.

Scott Thompson all over again.

Good luck Brock.

Connolly, Bailey and Harrington you better know what you are doing

Well, we do get pick 11 for our troubles.

All the best for Brock - if pick 11 is a good player, we win the trade.

i cant believe he's going, he was out great white saviour.. i have mixed emotions.. we may get our key forward, but brock is a warrior..
He was the man to lead our club in the future. He was the guy who was going to toughen us up, he won us a final when he was what 21? He kicked in his own cash to the debt demolition. There is just so much about this that is wrong. You lose Chris Johnson - okay it happens, turns out he hasn't stepped up anyway. You lose Brock McLean who is meant to be the future after one poor season, it's not right. Sure we have a few solid body mids (Jones, Moloney, Valenti) but none of them have shown what Brock has. Also for pick 11, before trade week has already started, it's a reasonable deal but not huge.

you just agreed with me.. i love brock, like i said, he is a warrior! i remember that final..

id love to wish him all the best, but cant do it, for me he doesnt deserve it. the off field indescretions were HIS OWN fault, nothing to do with the club, and if he feels he needs to go, i say let him go and stuff up somwhere else. a few of you may say this is a bit harsh, but thats just my opinion, pick at if u must, u have every right.

In the past 2 years, we haven't been able to attract anyone to the club except for the highly sort after Meesen, and now we lose a player who is the fabric of the team.

Our football department is a disgrace.

That's a big shock... seriously wondering what might be behind it too!

Can't for the life of me figure out WHY he'd be so stupid as to do it - he's effectively destroyed all the goodwill he's built up around here, that's for sure.

For him to make this decision now is mindblowingly pathetic... :(

I have a feeling that pick 11 may be used as part of a trade for Shaun Burgoyne ...
Just my gut feeling ...
It would be a pretty clever move by the Dees if that was the case (shipping off picks 11 and I think pick 17) to Port, for one of the games most elite and exciting young players ..

Didn't Brock put his hand in his pocket and drop a shitload of money into the debt demoliton last year???

I thought this guy bleed Red and Blue. What the hell happened:confused:

Exactly right mate.... that's what we all thought too :(

I hope he gets an absolute shellacking for it when he comes up against us in the future, that's for sure.

Maybe so, from a certain point of view anyway CP. But it seems clear that this was something McLean initiated, not the club.

It's both staggering and disgusting on his part.

He was a potential captain at MFC, but now he'll be just another journeyman who sells his soul to the highest bidder...

If Shaun Burgoyne decides that he wants to play for Melbourne, which I doubt, we won't be giving up 2 top 20 draft picks, when we have the 1st pick in the PSD.

Then again, nothing would surprise me with our current football dept.

What makes you so certain McLean asked to leave and even if thats a case why shouldnt he get the chance to explain. Maybe be can see Dees wont win a premiership soon whereas Carlton might.

Incredibly harsh on McLean given all that hes done for the club

Flabbergasted by this. Truly flabbergasted. I can't believe he would just up and leave like this. Something is not right. There must be more to this story than meets the eye.

No doubt more details will become apparent soon.

An article on the melbourne website says he asked for a trade mate.

I reckon Jeannie Pratt put her hands in her deeper pockets....dont know the full story yet obviously but am shattered that hes walking out on us in his prime, id like to wish him well but sorry i cant....anywhere but those scumbags Carlton, were getting dudded with pick 11:mad:
