Pains me to say it, but Robbo on the money yet again.

ANDREW GAFFE

To look at Andrew Gaff is to look at a shadow of what he was able to deliver in his prime. It feels like it’s become open season on the veteran left-footer in recent weeks, as fans and media types take aim. On Saturday, and while his numbers were solid enough for a midfield, one pivotal play in the third quarter shut this game down in a blink of a bad kick. The embattled Eagles were in the game, the score 63-48 to Collingwood and such was the momentum the Eagles had, their fans were sniffing the upset of the season. So, back to Gaff. His teammates busted their backsides to get him the ball 35m out in front. What should’ve been a doddle to make the margin nine points with six minutes to play in the third quarter, Gaff’s half-hearted caress of the ball barely made the distance for a point. It sucked the life out of the Eagles. The Magpies kicked the ball in, took down field and the mercurial Ash Johnson kicked a goal. Then Bobby Hill kicked a goal. Then Brody Mihocek kicked a goal. It was three goals to one after the Gaff behind and the margin at three quarter time was 26 points. Game over. Gaff’s miss didn’t lose the game, but it sure lost momentum for a team playing its best footy of the year.

Apparently Bucks thinks Jordy's was a football act.

Thought Bucks was better than this. Got his black and white glasses on. He’s also going into Grant Thomas areas saying Hewett should have protected himself. WTF.

Would love to see the rhetoric from the VFL media had Duggan knocked Nick Daicos out like that. Would be hung, drawn and quartered already.

Normally rate Bucks but this take of his is dogshit.

He launches upwards into the bump, anyone who's played footy knows you do that looking to cause maximum damage to your opponent.

Yeah I'm all for the players having a bit of self preservation but when a player just disposes of the footy and gets picked off like that its pretty shit.
Asking them to have self preservation in that situation is bullshit.

To be fair Buckley did say De Goey deserves 3 weeks for it. The disagreement was more over Cornes assessment of what a s***t bloke De Goey is.
Well he’s downplaying what he should get by a week so he’s definitely using his media role to position the narrative to an outcome that is more favourable for his team.

The thing that the Ralphs and Robbo's either don't understand or chose not to, is that Lobb wanted to go to Melbourne.

They're talking like Yeo, Gov and Darling are out of contract.

How do you fix the Eagles?

Jon Ralph.

Adam Simpson keeps talking about the time he might get his best playing list together.

But it is a false economy because those players are all incredibly injury-prone.

Among them are Luke Shuey (28 games since the start of 2021), Nic Naitanui (52 games since the start of 2019), and Elliot Yeo (31 games since the start of 2020).

Yeo was extraordinary against Collingwood — the barnstorming model of old with 26 touches and 84 per cent kicking efficiency, seven clearances, six score involvements and plenty of swagger.

But he turns 30 on October 1.

It’s certain he won’t be there when West Coast is a contender again, given the expected length of the Eagles rebuild.

He will help Simpson keep his job and he might even drag the Eagles out of the bottom four.

But from a list management perspective, that game is enough to lure in a rival who sees what he could be with an immediate premiership contender.

Whether by splitting the No.1 overall pick for multiple early selections, or considering a Yeo or McGovern trade, the Eagles must be bold and innovative and even risky.

The Bulldogs gave up pick 30 and a future second-rounder for Rory Lobb — who turned 30 in February — so clubs will give up quality picks for 30-year-olds if they believe they can win them a flag.

Cry harder Jimmy

And Eddie, "just" a bump. It bloody caused a concussion!

Tell me Jimmy hasn’t met Dom Sheed without telling me he hasn’t

Dom is far from the sharpest tool in the shed and the notion he actually meant what he said and/or thought it through is fanciful

Buckley thinks he didn’t really leave the ground. Sure

Maybe Buckley should look at the photo - before opening his trap. I think Buckley has been good in the media, but he showing his old colours here. Thought he was better than that.

Ed and Jimmy Bartel saying their job as the media is to educate the fans! What a crock. And Ed saying it’s “Just a bump” needs his head evaluated. What the **** happens if a kid has head trauma and never plays again. Just a bump.

That’s what Nadia Bartel did hey Jimmy ya ****en clown. Just a bump of white powder up the old nose hey
