So many people said the same thing about Caracella, even if it's true our black hole of a football club will destroy any brains he may have

It’s similar to when we draft someone and everyone says ‘this is a great pick, an absolute steal’, it comes with a massive caveat that they’re mostly ruined just by stepping into the joint.

Maybe we need to do the opposite then, hire complete shit trucks?

Leppitsch has one of the worst records as head coach so he actually fits the bill.

Top it up with Rhyce Shaw, Alan Richardson and Brendan Bolton.

Tim Watson surely, terrible track record and a good Essendon person.

Two birds

Goldstein has been the perfect fill in until Bryan was ready. Id be happy if he signed on again next year as 3rd AFL option/ VFL playing coach
If he was happy to do it you could make him ruck coach / back up and use his footy salary as money spent outside of the soft cap . Unofficial Ruck coach of course.

All it says to me are that betting odds are a pretty bad way of predicting a winner. We've got a historically bad record against Geelong, and despite ladder position weren't exactly an imposing side for any team to come up against.

Are you in to betting at all? You might be surprised by how accurate they are (if you aren’t a bettor). It’s a two horse race, so to speak, so there’s always going to be upsets - but they get it right most of the time. Their over/under markets for total points scored, player disposals, etc. are remarkably accurate.

They're accurate (for the purposes of the betting company making money). Which is often forgotten. If the favourite always won no one would ever have to worry about losing money.

Absolutely. It’s a grubby industry. But they know exactly what they’re doing - as you alluded to, the more accurate they are, the more cash they rake in

At this point I just assume there's some sort of degaussing coil at the entrance to the hanger that erases footy acumen when you walk through it

I have Duursma as the no.1 most underrated player on our list.
If he did not get injured a couple of times he would be in the AA discussion. His stats are equally as good as D'Ambrosio.

The only way he is in trouble is a) if we have another fadeout and finish with under 10 wins or b) if the board get trigger happy and believe that our list is better than what it actually is, which right now is a 6th-12th placed side.
OR
c) Clarko becomes available again

Its something that really couldnt be fixed with the personnel at hand though. Caddy added something different at least and was a good start, bringing in Kako will also help change the balance.
Personally I would look at Joe richards from Pies as a trade target as another small pressure forward, but we will still be short a key position forward
Agree - Joe Richards would be an worthy pick up and seems gettable.

Don’t assistant coaches have a set contract termination/extension deadline? Which is why we get all the departures at this time of the year.

Maybe the smoke is he is departing Collingwood and it’s just people putting two and two together because we need someone who actually has a clue.
