Re: Warnock homeward bound

That is why i fear those dirty rotten mongel cheats, Carltank will get him as Robbie will be made Assistant Ambassador to Visy Park.

Well done AFL, just open an official loophole for Carlton to rort the salary cap over and over again.

Demetriou, you are an idiot.
Lol... Just lol.

Just come back from a 12 year ski trip did you?

Re: Warnock nominates Carlton

Watch all the dees fans now come out and say he is a hack and overrated. Personally i believe he's been over-hyped but if he's wearing navy blue next year, i think he will be the best ruckman for the next decade. ;):p

Re: Warnock nominates Carlton

The Gold Coast will take Hampson.

Actually he can play for us for a couple of years to thraw out first.

He's no Renouf, but he will still turn out OK.

Won't happen mate. He just signed a new 3 year deal and his family has moved down to Melbourne, away from the Gold Coast which means it's a non issue.

We're not getting rid of Hampson mate.

He'll still well and truly be in our long term plans, but he's just not ready yet.

Getting Warnock really won't have profound effects for Hampson and his spot on the list in the long term. It will, however, place a fair amount of pressure on Cloke to continue improving at risk of losing his spot.

Re: Warnock nominates Carlton

Melbourne desperately need a ruckman now, especially that White is gone. Will Natinui now come under consideration with their number 1 pick?

I wouldn't think so mate, there'll still be decent prospects there at #17 and #19. Between McKernan/Trengove/Roughead/Redden etc. they will have plenty to choose from.

Re: Warnock homeward bound

You're talking tough the same way you talked tough about Warnock even leaving Freo in the first place.

Fact is, we're in the box seat. We could offer him an extra 50k over what Richmond or Carlton want if he agrees to go to PSD. then you get nothing.

The only motivation for us to trade with you is if we want to use the PSD pick on someone else.

Exactly. So why would he agree to go to Carlton or Rich for less money, and not play with his brother, when he can go to Melbourne without worrying at all about the trade process?
See really. It's arrogant crap like this that allows people to gloat so easily.

Not me however.

Re: Warnock homeward bound

A friend of mine is a director of the MFC who told me if Warnock chooses the MFC, we will be going hell for leather to get him for free in the pre-season draft. Make no bones about it.

He told me to discount the romantic idea of him coming to the MFC to play alongside his brother.

It will be all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Melbourne supporters are just dirty that Carlton's paper bags bought them a flag and Melbourne's didn't.

People forget there's still no guarantee that Watts will nominate so Naitanui must be some chance.

Re: Warnock nominates Carlton

I'd still think Melbourne would take Watts and the Eagles would take Rich.

They'll end up with a better prospect in the end anyway in Naitanui.

Re: Warnock nominates Carlton

Yeah good move for Carlton, pretty much sures up their stocks..

But leaves Freo in need of a future ruckman, which is a worry for them..

We have young Brent Connolly coming through and will probably target Jon Griffin i would say.
If not then Kepler is a decent back-up.

Re: Warnock nominates Carlton

ye this is a big signing for us, whilst the future was looking bright for our ruck stocks, we didnt have a really good tap ruckman which is really important, this will take the pressure of kruz and release cloke into the forward which he's more than capabole of playing, kruze can play a good forward role as well, signs are good, it shows that players see us a team on the rise so ill be wrapt to get warnoch

Re: Warnock nominates Carlton

Plus I think Warnock is a Bit Overrated any way;)

I'm with Dave, maybe not overrated but certainly still a bit raw to consider a future superstar. Fremantle will want a big deal for him, sure he is tall and showed a bit this year but we have seen it so many times with players jumping to other clubs and into the hole of anonymity.

I would have liked to see him spread his wings for another season, then see what lies there with him.

Richmond would like him, but it's not a desperate urgent requirement. We have our eyes set on Griffin at Adelaide who apparently wants out of SA, though it isn't really confirmed yet. My sources tell me the Tigers have either talked to the management or Warnock, though I would say they've lodged interest with the management. But I think we are more poised to sit back and see what Freo tell Carlton they want. I don't think he's worth a 1st round, and either a 2nd round. If the Tigers got in on it I think our best bid would be a player (JON) and a 3rd Round, though I doubt Freo would take that. Also, we're currently in talks regarding David Mundy, who is rumoured to be returning to the east. The Tigers would much prefer his services.

Re: Warnock nominates Carlton

I don't understand why Freo fans would be happy about this. If he was open to move to any club in Melbourne, you would have had Melbourne, Carlton, Richmond, and possibly others trying to outbid each other for his services

Enjoy your pick 26, when you could have gotten a first rounder for him

Re: Warnock nominates Carlton

Adelaide gain: Pick 6 (Carlton), Pick 21 (Freo)
Carlton gain: Pick 10 (Crows), Warnock
Fremantle gain: Griffin, Pick 37 (Carlton)

Adelaide lose: Pick 10, Griffin
Carlton lose: Pick 6, Pick 37
Fremantle lose: Warnock, Pick 21

I suggested this on the Crows board, and I am a Crows supporter so feel free to throw the one-eyed tag around or tell me I am on the right track. Was mentioned that Crows would also need to give their 3rd pick to Freo which sounds OK to me too.
