Melbournes second round pick done in the first hour please.
Melbourne overpaid on jake and will slightly underpay with pig.
I think there is a fair relationship between the two clubs.
The only spanner in the works may be Christian Salem ................
I'd rather keep Salem. He's had his fair share of health and injury issues. However he's going to be a very good player once he gets a decent run at it.

Melbourne's 2nd rd pick currently Pick 26 gets offered day 1.
Days 2-4 Essendon try to get steak knives e.g. swapping of later picks to improve draft position.
Day 5 Deal done for pick 26.
Melbourne get a quality half back, Essendon get more youth and a bit of cap space.
Everyone moves on.
Melbourne most likely win the trade unless Essendon find a diamond in the rough at pick 26.

It will probably get done for 26, but he is worth a late first rounder.
To a top 4 team without a quality half back, who also has said late first rounder, he would be a perfect trade all round.
Hopefully a team like Geelong come forward and offer him a deal he can't refuse.

I would have thought that would be worst case for Essendon ... given Geelong's first pick is 34.

We paid overs last year for Melksham to get the deal done, Essendon will take unders for Hibberd to get the deal done ... after spending a few days to try and sweeten it.

Thanks for acknowledging that the we'll be trying to sweeten it. I'd assume Melb would do the same if the roles were reversed.

The afl 'journos' will be copying and pasting from years past about how difficult we are.

Why would he go shopping around for? Hibberd said Melbourne is where he wants go and 26 is what you'll get.
Going by Xavier Campbell on MMM a couple of Fridays back this is what will happen.

He also said he'll stay if a deal cant get done. Not that I believe that for one second, but I still think EFC will explore improving 26.

Also remember that Connors is his agent and if another club offers a similar deal he'll do everything to get more $ out of either club.

Dont wsste time trying to get what he is worth? I thought this is a competition.
Not if it holds up other trades.
Personally I only value him at around that mark and if we can get that trade done as early as possible it would give us time to package up picks or get other deals done.
Last thing we need is the Hibberd deal sretching until the last week to potentially only get an extra 4th rounder or something
