Listening to the Sounding Board (listener questions) podcast today and the topic of the next AFL CEO came up. Apparently Garlick was in the mix for the role, but unlikely to get it. A good reflection on him and the job he is doing with us I think to go deep in the recruitment process.

Heard on the Duff and Quarters that Freo had the 5th highest attendance and the only clubs that beat us were the big vic clubs. Does anyone find the stats to back this up? Obviously, helps to be playing finals and be top 6 on the ladder, but that's still a hell of a stat, imo.

I don't know why but breaking the membership record, seeing more fans at Mundy's farewell game than at J Kennedy's, and this stat (if true) gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside. Maybe I'm just a tragic freo supporter who is starved for any positive attention towards the club... lol.

Have a look at afltables for attendance. Average home attendance of 40k.Take out the stk game that was 50% capacity and its 42k. Pretty sure we'd have the highest avg vs interstate teams but icbf doing the math.

Actually has us 4th only behind Carlton, Collingwood, Richmond who are obviously boosted by their games vs each other.

Sixth highest overall attendance according to that table, and fourth highest home attendance as you mentioned.
