Most disappointing team to round 10

1. Carlton - I thought they would be well in the top 4 by now. Instead, they look like they may miss the 8. It seems so long ago that they looked like the good side that pulled Collingwood apart. Can't say I am disappointed though, but it would be for the supporters.

2. Melbourne - Apart from last week, they have been terrible and it looked like they weren't going to win a game.

3. North - Well I thought they would in the 8 at this stage and if they missed the 8, I thought it was no lower than 9th. Don't look like finishing close to that the way they are going. An 100+ point smashing is unacceptable for a team that should be well and truly over that stage by now

4. Fremantle - For how long does this club have the whole "next year" thing? Although I do admit that the players need to get used to the boring Ross Lyon game plan. The players themselves are bored.

5. Hawthorn - They have been okay, but the way they lost to Richmond and Sydney would be very disappointing for Hawks fans.

Alot of people seem to be nominating Carlton as most dissapointing.

We are 6-4 equal with both the reigning premiers and pre-season favorites, We have a horrible injury list.
I dont know how people can go past Melbourne, They won 8.5 games last year and were expected to improve and push for finals.
Instead they have been one of the worst teams of the modern era.
Yeah, not anymore! 6-5 and the reigning premiers are now 7-4. There are plenty of horrible injury lists around as well.

And here i was thinking Richmond had finally turned the corner, good times for their fans.

They will most likely be a new candidate for my most disappointing by years end, to join my own club. If there has even been one team to promise much, and deliver SFA as the season progresses, its the black and gold........

Has to be Gold Coast - they have gone backwards and their million dollar star is racking up 40+ useless possessions every week.

The regression of GC must be absolutely demoralizing for the youngsters and you wonder if they will be scarred.

Have to agree with you to a point. Yes the Suns are going backwards but to say Ablett is getting useless possies is stupid.

Fair point there Bombers.

Whilst I agree with original post that GC have been very disappointing (GWS already in front for mine) surely nothing to do with AblettJ. Yes, he is getting possies in the back half but what else is the option? Sit at HF and spectate for most of the match to prove he can get touches up forward? We already know he can.

I know where Sttew is coming from, Ablett's touches aren't damaging at the minute, but surely the team needs him to be where the action is. And that is defensive as they are getting beaten every week and his impact has stopped even bigger massacres.

1. Melbourne (forgive them for their poor start, but 1-9 isn't good enough, is it.)
2. Gold Coast (Should have won a game by now)
3. North (Decent list, should be travelling better than they are, considering their draw)

Everyone seems to form their opinion based on last week's results.

How about the reigning premiers? They have had their injuries but they haven't certainly set the world alight.

We're not talking about previous years, it's this year, till round 10. In fact if you hold your point in argument, it should be expected they would have been better this year. Remember at the start of the year they started almost equal favourite with Hawthorn and Collingwood for the premiership.

"...not talking about previous years..."/"How about the reigning premiers?"
"...not talking about previous years..."/"How about the reigning premiers?"

Still trying to get my head around that one. Though I've got to agree that it's shameful they haven't improved on their 10-0 win loss record after ten games in 2011.

Start with Melbourne, a popular darkhorse pick to see finals action. Continue with Gold Coast, who would have been expected to win 6-8 games this year (though injuries give them some excuse). And finish with North Melbourne, considered to be finals certainties, given their easy draw.

Carlton. I would have thought that they would be fighting it out for a top 2 position.

Freo. You never know what Freo are going to dish up but I'd have expected them to be in the 8.

Melbourne. I expected them to have a hard year but up until last week they were spineless.

Last week Ablett racked up 53 possessions, and something like 39 of these were on the defensive side of the centre circle, and a staggering 11 were little chip passes from teammates who could have elected to play direct. I've said it before, and this isn't sour grapes, but the "Ablett factor" is real. It is holding back the kids because they feel obliged to look out for Ablett, and if the opposition contain him in the defensive half, his potency is diminished.

Yes, that is an interesting angle about GC. If losing every game and being very non-competitive of late is improvement then yeah, going well o_O

Richmond will be bumped in this thread come end of year when renamed - mark my words! (or I could be eating them  )

1. GC - Deplorable, especially the last could of weeks
2. Carlton - Have fallen off a cliff in the last 5 weeks. Where is the run and carry we saw earlier on
3. North Melbourne - I cannot understand this side. The list is pretty good but some serious mental deficiencies...

Honourable mention: Freo - Worse than I expected, but a new coach, new gamestyle. Beating Richmond redeemed them in the short term.
