alipate carlile broke his duck against hawthorn on anzac day in his 157th game this year

david mckay got his first vote against melbourne this year in his 127th game. a quite special achievement for plodders given how much the umps would usually love a 'skillful' blonde winger/mid

lonergan is a surprising one. not so much to see jamison, toovey, zac dawson, armfield and mcmahon on there

For a player with a reputation (amongst deluded crow supporters) of elite speed, elite kicking who provides elite run and carry, David Mackay's single vote over about 140 games must have him very close to winning this award.

Not sure if anyone will see this. But Jason Blake's record looks set to be overtaken this year by Taylor Duryea. Duryea has now played 213 games (before the elimination final vs Hawthorn). That means if he doesn't poll at this year's Brownlow before 211 games, he will be the new record holder. A victim of playing with great players for the entirety of his career.

Nick Smith holds the record with 211 games, which will still be beaten. Blake ended up polling 2 votes in 2012.

Duryea really surprises me. Plays a style that you would think leans itself to a 1 or 2 here or there.

Jake Kolodjashnij is currently 18 games behind Duryea (196 played) and 4 years younger, also without a vote. I'll wager he takes the record after Duryea presumably retires a year or two ahead of him.

Jake Kolodjashnij has entered the conversation. 196 games, 0 votes.

Dale Morris got damn close.
249 games and just 1 Brownlow vote.
He attended the Brownlow count 4 times without getting a single vote!

Came second in the B&F in a Premiership year and got donuts that year.
