I have one also. Good bat once you get used to it, might be a tad heavy to start off.

Ive gone for the Monster, it is a fair bit heavier than my current bat
This thing has edges almost as thick as my old Gray Nicolls middle

Looks pretty good from the pictures. What's its weight and price?

I'm currently using a Kookaburra Sword (as I have for about a year now); just seemed to like it better than Gray Nicholls' range.

The one i'm getting wieghs 2.12 lb, the model in the pic is a fair bit lighter and obviously alot skinnier
Mines $330 , the next model down is about $270

I looked at a couple of Kookaburras but have always had Gray Nicolls

You sound excited about you new bat, which is good, but are you going to knock it in before to taking it into the nets ?

The ready play stuff they do with Gray Nicholls bats is only light preparation, so you should do some knocking in before using it.

I most certainly will have a few hits in the lower grades nets and probably do fielding drills with it first

Gary Nicholls IMO arent that good, they break too easily. Go for the lesser known brands like Newbrey, Willow Wizard and Fisher they are all good willows

Get yourself four or five low-quality grips. Put them on top of each other, then get a proper $25+ grip on top of all of them. The way to go. :thumbsu:

Probably a fair call
Its hard to judge, ive had a Gray Nicolls for nearly 16 years and its been great.Just a few surface cracks naturally.
Ive seen a lot of mates with diferent brands and have seen pretty much every brand have a bad one
My new bat is made from grade one willow, so i'd hope its of fine quality

The model i'm getting has a thicker than normal handle and comes with two grips as standard, also given the fact i wear batting inners that should be meaty enough :D

that is way to many, just get a couple of cheapos and they work fine. If you have too many it makes it unreal to pick up, its like picking up an axe with a huge handle.

Yeah, Fisher make a very good bat.

One of the openers in the first XI uses one and he has said before that it's the best bat he has ever had.

i got a newbery mjornir 6 star and goes off. picks up very good and hits awesome. premier grade willow and for $440, better value than those $600 top grade bats plus the cricket shop look after my bat with free service as well.

Yes, we have one or two guys who have these bats and they rave about them.

The Cricket Shop.... good eastablishment we get all our balls from them and Swans Richards is a great bloke as well, have spoken to him at our festival (social) matches against the Crusaders.

Where did it get it from Eddie and how much ?

It looks like a fair blade mate.

It was under $80 with postage off Ebay from India

It hits the ball superbly, tried it in the nets for the first time today and it was great, didnt get much chance on Sat as I was facing a bowler bowling at about 20 km/h and boundary riders everywhere but the 2 balls I did hit really flew off the bat :thumbsu:

That's awesome Eddie.

Never thought about that as an alternative to get a new bat or an extra blade.

Cheap ones on there, but sourced from India and they are English willow, so not too bad.
