Sounds about right.
I'm not sure that Tom Boyd is ready yet and wouldn't be concerned if he played a few VFL games to start with. But happy to see what he can do against the Pies. Hope he gets a bit more involvement this week if he plays.

Also not convinced on Roughead but Bev seems to like what he brings.

5 of that list have to come out for Rd 1 (maybe 6 if Dickson comes in). 3 or 4 will probably get left out this week anyway.
I'd leave out one of Hrovat/McLean, one of the KPDs (maybe Collins) and at least one of Roughead, T.Boyd and Redpath.

Collins and Adams both in, that's very nice. And I know it's still just a practice match, but I wish Dunkley had gotten another go.

Given the way and the positions that Dunkley plays, we may have concerns about over-cooking the lad so early in the season. No rush to slot him into our senior midfield, let him build a core fitness base first. We don't want him to get OP or other over-training injuries.

I have no inside knowledge about Dunkley here - it's just a hunch we are managing him.

You're completely right. I just always get excited about our young guys and I knew nothing about him before the game last week. After seeing him I just really want to see how he goes at AFL level, and no doubt he'll get that chance soon.

But in the words of Veruca Salt, I want it now!

Anyone know what's up with Dickson?
He was pulled from NAB 1 in the second quarter with a bit of soreness and hasn't been seen since. Hopefully nothing that's going to see him miss weeks, he's extremely important to us with Crameri out.

I hope Hamling hasn't been injured at training or something. Sudden withdrawal considering the squads were named only a couple of hours ago...
Does seem like that would be the case. Hopefully it was just a mistake in the line up, but don't think we'd go with Collins, Adams & Roberts in normal circumstances. Hamling gives us a lot of flexibility.

I imagine Roberts doesn't make the final cut, but still. Fingers crossed Hamling just pulled up a little sore and they're being conservative...

There is no chance that Roberts is ahead of Hamling, and Bev said this was a dress rehearsal for round 1.

More than likely it's a twinge or a tiny bit sore and we don't want to risk him.

Concerning. Did Hamling play NAB1, I can't remember. If so, I could understand resting him from what would otherwise be his 3rd hitout.
No. Only played NAB 2.

Anyone concerned about these little niggles to hammers and dickson ? Crucial to our side id say at this stage of our progression. Anyone got any info as to whether or not they are in doubt for round 1 ?

so ruck combo for round 1 is settled, Campbell and Roughy in, Minno being saved for the elimination final
Minno out looks a safe bet, but still no guarantee Roughy will get a run. Campbell/Boyd/Redpath may be deemed a preferable Ruck/Forward combo. Campbell looks a near certainty as first ruck though. Hopefully no Elimination Final this year, they're not the concern of those in the top 4:)

Yeah not sure what's going on there with Hamling and Dickson. They are important players to our side. Hopefully they are ready to go Round 1.

Top 4 would be huge achievement for us and be just fantastic but realistically top 4 will be a challenge and I'd say we need to play finals again and win won. If we miss finals it will be dissapointing but not disastrous as then 2017 we really start conquering.
