It's not as far fetched as you'd think. They will improve this season after being 8th last season. They are fast, skilful, have a great attacking line and solid defensive line. If Boyd comes on added to the likes of Stringer and co, what's not to like?finish top 4 and anyone's a chance.

IMO their style of football doesn't win Premierships.

Don't get me wrong it is lovely to watch but their Premiership cupboard is quite bare for a reason and their last final in 2015 proves that to ME.

Their on ballers are scary good and will have a good year again! Becoming the best I am not too sure.

All you Witts haters, he has the most hitouts, most tackles, 3 marks and 7 handballs, sure he has made clangers, but who hasn't?

He hasn't been on the ground the whole time and there are more highly profiled players that are not also playing up to standard.

Give it a break, it is becoming boring and repetitive. Are you only watching one player?

It is obvious, that the Bulldogs are out playing us, our mids are not up to what we expect and are putting pressure on an already questionable backline.

Am I disappointed we are not playing better? Of course I am, but I am not going to blame one player for the result to date.
No, no, no. That's not the way to post when we are trailing at half time

Everything seems to be going Langdon including kick outs and apparently the ball is not allowed to leave defensive 50 without Langdon touching it and putting someone under enormous pressure.
I like Langdon but he hasn't been great today at all. He's not alone though. Every handball and pass seems to be under pressure or, if it's not, just lacking finesse. Our structure around the clearances must be poor as we have very few excuses for why we are so consistently poor in this department.

Seriously guys it's just a practice match. And we are ill. It has been proven many times that
A. Pre Season shows little compared to how you play at the start of the season.
B. Starting the season off well means very little too.

Its not a race its a marathon. Don't want to do a Richmond and have the first half of the season stuffed by a practice match. We have our eye on the first round. That's exactly where it should be. I swear people here would complain that we lost the intra club practice match if it was televised.

I can cop the virus stopping them running as hard, that's just physiology. But the skill levels have been of a standard of under 8s. The biggest casualty being the one who wears number 8. Which is surprising considering he never takes on a kick that requires more than a basic level of competence

Skill errors will happen when low energy levels from being sick or didn't you know that?

Glass half full.

- Varcoe has been consistently one-touch and classy. Makes us look better up forward
- Fasolo a bit scrappy but still putting in and chasing. Effort is there, will get rewarded if he continues during 3/4 qtrs
- Moore getting a few more important touches and still being dangerous without fully translating into scoring
- Treloar a bit like cooking garlic in the kitchen. You can tell something good's on the way but not quite ready yet
- Blair, Pendles, Swan ticking over and although quiet are still in 2nd gear
- Gault providing a good forward option. Hasn't had a heap of it yet.

Clearance work lacking, but Witts is barely jumping today and not being as physical as he usually is. Adams, De Goey, Crispy, Ramsay, Sinclair, Langdon all looking very fumbly and off. Even Sidebum a bit sketchy. Today's not our day but it's not all doom and gloom.

We still need to work out how to stem their fast-running center clearances, we've leaked way too much with supposed 'intercept' players nowhere near the ball.

God forbid anybody saying something positive about the opposition!!!

Witts makes some mistakes and you have a lot to faux posts about how upset ppl are, when secretly it seems some are thrilled - it means they can come on here and pay out on him.

It reminds me of a Seinfeld quote about 'restrained jubilation'...

Of course. But I don't think it will have a big enough effort for our captain to kick out on the full attempting a 20m kick from a mark, or kicking 15m into the pocket from a kick out when it's a relatively low intensity situation.

Obviously when running 50m keeping a string of handballs together and kicking at the end of the chain will have an effect.

Witts is hopeless around the ground.I know everyone loves his tap work, but he's poor everywhere else.

Only clear winner in the midfield group.

Sorry TfT not having a go and I respect your opinion but the pumping up of the Doggies is nearly as bad as the negative stuff today IMO.
