The ability to distinguish players playing out of role in the NAB cup, is very important for DT

For example, last night, Malceski was playing the role that Rhyce Shaw played last year, and probably would have played if he was playing. Dont expect those numbers from Malceski, but do expect them from Shaw

The thing that does excite me is Josh Hunt. Not only is he scoring well at the moment, but he is scoring well, with a backline of

B: Hunt - Taylor - Mackie
HB: Enright - Lonergan - Gillies

This shows that Hunt is clearly changing his aproach, and will be able to mop up the loose ball in defense. The only adition to that backline in terms of getting the ball, is Milburn, and he would have limited effect of Hunt, and also Scarlett (but he is KPD, which wont affect Hunt).

The fact that Taylor, Lonergan, Mackie and Gillies (Scarlett) are all doing "holding down" jobs ahead of Hunt (who used to do them), points to an increase in Hunts DT output

The cellar dwellers cup coming up will be the most watched game of the w/e i'm sure.

Will Scully/Trengove/Morabito + 3 or 4 other possibilites, i'm keen to see how Joel McDonald is travelling.

Corey Enright absolutely loving it this afternoon. Ablett & Bartel ticking along very nicely, J.Corey not so much. Liam Anthony cracks the tonne, could be a lovely selection if he can remain injury free throughout the season; and unique too. Ziebell spent some time in the midfield, good signs there for Jack fans.

Wouldnt read too much into it he has proven he can score consistently in the 70s before in similar mixed defensive roles.. I wouldnt put too a high a expectation on him. Especially coming off a Knee Recon, . but for 164k your not going to complain..

*Checks previous stats, to see Hunts previous scores*

I was under the impression he had a Presti like history
60's aint that bad

Well you would only get him as a cash cow but I dont reckon he will rise in price by more than 150K or so, which means it will be hard to trade him to a premium unless they have a shocking run of form. I will not be picking him this year. (Have gone Ladson instead) but he may be a good player to 'fill the gaps'.

I think you'll find that it will be relatively easy to upgrade Hunt if he rises to 300k as you have predicted.

I reckon Josh Hunt will be lucky to average 60. Although i dont see alot of difference in his game and Guerra's game.

Just been reading over the alst few pages and it came to me as a suprise as to see no one pick up on who alastair smith was. Smith scored 61 DT points and had 18 disposals.

What about last two starting mids and 2 bench as Martin, Barlow, Shuey and Banner? Could score the same as Trengove/Morabito/Scully? Thoughts?

That's what I'm doing. Was wondering whether to go Bastinac or Barlow, but Barlow's gunning it so far. Actually, Barlow's a rookie. Do you think that Freo will upgrade Pearce or Barlow for Soloman?

Yeh thats the problem he's a rookie. Theres also Pearce, Deboer and Silvagni who might get the spot

I think the frontrunner was de Boer, but he gunned it tonight. I think Silvagni still has a chance too. Watch next week i believe.

Anybody watching the game know wats happening to Morabito???

Fanfooty says he has limited TOG any1 know y?

He's AFL ready and was the one i thought will score the best of the rookies

The game was available via Internet streaming but the quality was a bit down.

Morabito was rarely sighted and didn't appear to be given much on-field time. He also twanged a knee in the last quarter but appeared ok.

He is a big lump of a lad at 191cm and 95kg and could take a bit of time to adjust to the rhythm of AFL football.

Not sold on him at this point of time.
