We will own hall with carlile playing on him and chaplin or Chad floating around in front. He won't have anywhere near the night he had against hawthorn.

Spot on, Bob will take Bazz, Chad will play a kick in front and curtail Hall, the dogs will e beaten this week, end of story! Not by the better team, by the more determined team! We need to get Lake up the ground, we can not play the long ball game against the Dogs, Lake, Morris and Williams will pick us off far too easily! This is where we need to hit up, Schultz, Motlop and Ebert as the leading targets at 50 who can kick over the man on the mark and the goal line!

I like Chappy on Hann, Trengove on Hill, he would have the intimidation for Hill plus size match up, Surjan on Higgins, Aker is the question, maybe Stewart but he may not be nimble enough.

No no no, sorry Rick Buddy, I respect you and your opinions but we would get monstored:

F: Hill-Krakour, Hall-Carlile, Akermanis-Surjan
HF: Higgins-P.Stewart, Hahn-Chappy, Murphy-Trengove

Salter has to get dropped out of our back six this week, Krakour can play defensively and Hill tends to zone rather than playing the man in the forward 50 defencivly, this creating Krakour as the free man we desperatly force him to be. Carlile on Hall should explain it's self. Akermanis is still the dogs best Forward, our best shut down defender heads to him, Surj has the Pace, the awareness and the determination to hault Aker! Higgins has pace and gets plenty of the ball but with Stewart diving infront of him it will be hard for him to get first hands on the ball, Stewart also has the speed to go with Higgins and Higgins pushing him up the ground would see Stewart around the contest more, his size and agression wouldn't be lost in the heat of battle. Chappy on Hahn, I honestly think Chappy has Mitch covered in every area except guts and mongrel, If Johnson plays I expect Chappy to take Johnson and then Hahn becomes the match winner for the dogs, however, I feel Johnson will be rested. Murphy on Trengove would be an interesting battle but I feel after two games of Promise and Potentual, A tougher assignment is due, Murphy will run Trengove up the ground, Trengove has the speed and pace in the legs to go with Murphy, but has he the tank? He will spoil all day and is hard at the man, Murphy seems like he goes missing, less touches, when there is a physical emphasis on him, Still kicks his three goals, but instead of a 10 marks 23 touches game, will have a 2 marks 8 touches game!

I think defensivly, minus Johnson we match up well against them, as they match up REALLY well against us up forward, this game will come down to two things, 1)Midfield battles, Rucks and Clearances, and 2)Defencive pressure. In the guts they have us covered in terms of Skill, Ability, Performance and Experiance, we beat them in Heart and Determination. Will the better side win on the day or will the Champion side beat the side full of Champions?

Ranga maybe I under value Stewarts pace, but I would have thought Higgins would completely run him around ragged?

Hill plays permanently forward (that's what I thought anyway), hence I thought Trengove may be the option as he looks like a Burton type player, eg plays taller than what he is.

Maybe Marlon has come into the side as we need extra small coverage?

Correct, Johnson rested. :)

Big test of the mettle of our new-look midfield. Can't wait to watch in the flesh!

Reckon we can start to get a bit carried away about our chances of making finals this year if we pull this one off!

Re Cloke, i reckon the selectors want to see more of him to make up their mind whether or not to upgrade him or Hitchcock.

Only room for one rookie elevation, Cloke or Hitchcock.

Yeah, but I was thinking about how the management of Butcher's back might pan out. Pure speculation, but given his history the club may choose to totally mothball him, first with rest and then with a lot of core strengthening in the gym rather than have him merely get past this recent pain and then start running around with the PAMFC for the sake of it with essentially the same injury-prone body he has now.

In which case we'd obviously have a chance to elevate both.

i wouldnt of thought this guy was that intimidating

When Daniel Stewart out marked Jackson in a competitive training drill, "Action" Jackson, in rage, threw a fist of frustration towards the well grasped ball, missing the clenched ball, "Action" Jackson collected an unsuspecting Daniel Stewart in between his bright blue eyes, Causing his nose to ooze thick red claret and Daniel was forced leave the harden training track. This Kid is now borderline huge, He hates to be beaten and if I had to select one AFL footballer to become a homicidal maniac, My money would be on Jackson Trengove killing the opposition cheer squad for bad mouthing a team mate! I love the bloke, there is a fair man crush on the Port board for him, if anyone disagrees with what I have described here please fill free to fill in the blanks…

He should scare you!

IMO altering your post, this is what I'd possibly expect.

yeah Chad to play on a wing but loose float in the defencive 50, as I would like to see on the other wing with westhoff offencivly, maybe change the game, have a defensive wingman and an offensive wing man, Chad and Westhoff to play the two opposing roles!

I had a feeling Motlop wasnt going to be picked this week just based in Choco's words after last weeks game.

"It will be interesting selection," conceded Williams. "Brogan, Tredrea, Gray and Boak will be playing. I'm not sure after that . . . Daniel Motlop?

I wonder whether it is an internal punishment for something?

Marlon will dominate this year, out with Rodan in with Marlon, He will break the lines with his running ability and deliver long into a Camped D.Stewart, wont bounce between tacklers like Rodan but will just Bludggen opposition defenders like Matthew Hayden done to many bowling attacks!

Yeah but they're Carlton ;)
Would that be the Carlton that we were 1 goal behind at three quarter time in round 20 at AAMI last year only to lose by 10 goals or the Carlton that we lead by 5 goals at three quarter time in round 11 2008 at AAMI only to lose by 2 goals?
