Blind freddy could see that Petrie would be the better choice.

IMO Petrie doesn't handle leadership pressure. I remember about when he was early 20s they made him VC and he was terrible. Some people can handle. I suspectpetrie isn't one of them.

I'm happy for a next gen player to be the Captain. Dench, carey, Swallow.

2011: The young kids should be doing more, dont rely on the elder statesman blah blah bah.

2012: They need the elder statesman to do more of that than rely on the kids.

Broke even in that last half IMO, first half was crap though, lost it before we'd even touched it once.

We look completely different to last year, we're starting slow and finishing fast where last year we were starting strong.

Not particularly disappointed. Some of the less experienced players looked good. Cunnington continued, Pederson, Mullett. Quite a bit to like.

I liked Robbie T in the forward lines. Can play back and makes good decisions with the ball, but his positioning at times wasn't great. Made some great leads in the forward lines though. Hope he gets a fair run this year.

It's NAB Cup but there were some encouraging signs, and some worrying ones.

Cunners was our best tonight imo, huge year for him, played well, class decisions with the ball.

On the other hand, and a few will disagree with me, but, Levi's position in the side isn't concrete with 90% of his work with the ball, no doubting his endeavour, but decision making, and skills in general are up the creek at times.

Our medium tall backs leave alot to be desired imo, MacMillan was good in the first game, but I thats where we were let down last year, and it appears the same so far....

Goldie/McIntosh combo is still probably up in the air.

Pedo's the second tall picked imo, just alot smarter than all of our other options.

Jack is pure class, footskills now mimic his fitness, we will miss him for the Essendon game....

Harper alot fitter, alot more in the game, still has just about the best field kicking in the side.

Speight must be a regular starter in the side, his decision making/skills are first class.

It's still NAB Cup but.

Ziebell's passes by foot were sublime.

Petrie still being scragged by two men at every opportunity.

Liam Anthony still not liking physical pressure.

Thomas mentally shot in front of the sticks :(

Tony Shaw: 'If I were coach I would have Buddy in the forward line 90% of the time, give him 20% in the midfield'. Surely he is just trollin us, the footy public, now.
