I'm not worried. There was a lot of fumbling tonight from us around the packs. We managed to beat Richmond despite the fumbling but Hawthorn are a classy unit.

Hopefully, we'll get better through the pre-season and be ready when the real footy starts.

Anthony down back, whats the early verdict?

Im not liking it (so far), looks out of his depth.

Was OK. I think they're trying to use him as that guy that kicks and runs - we don't have many of them in defense. I'd have to watch a few more games and see how he goes with the ball coming in - he was good going out.

I wasn't expecting much, and he lived up to expectations. Not part of our next premiership team.

Mullet shows something.

To be honest, I'm not happy.

I don't care about the result(s), but I can't help but feel we haven't seriously and effectively addressed our major shortcoming from last season, i.e. kicking efficiency across half back.

Instead we've turned to Liam Anthony whose foot disposal last year was nothing short of abhorrent, even though one can not question his ball winning ability.

The sooner we can get match time into B-Mac and Sierakowski (who I was disappointed to see not play tonight) across that half back line the better as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not overly worried, some of the match ups were absurd.

Good

Edwards
Harper (loved his attack on the ball)
Ziebell
Tarrant (looked much better)
Cunnington (beautiful hands)
McIntosh (got better as the game went on)
Pederson
Harvey (late)

Observations

- We need to stop going to sleep for chunks of game time.

- Still too much Malthouse in the game plan for my liking. We looked a million times better when we set up behind the ball and kicked long and quickly in to the forward line.

- Forget about Boomer behind the middle. We were much more damaging when he played his usual role.

- Anthony initially looked all at sea down back, but got better as the game went on.

How did Swallow go?, only post about him was another poor kick, disappointing start to his captaincy.

Knocked out Patch. Changed direction intentionally to hit him, led to a possible concussion.

According to the commentary team we've "found a player" t hought it was a bit excessive. As tef said he was alright.
I assume that's the incident that led some Swans ****head on the gameday thread to describe Adams as 'soft'.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

The very same, apparently Patch played on scored eleventy bajillion goals and 400 tackles and then went off with a broken nail in the second game.

Anthony will be a back up.

Macmillan looked classy and Atley looked dangerous,

What was the kick in strategy like Zebs?

Any marked changes/improvement?

Aimed for the right pocket/wing most of the time, similar to last year.

The tactical geniuses (of which im not one) will be able to point out the intricate changes for you.
