It will be a lot easier to complain about priority access to players if the player goes in the top three picks, a lot harder to make that case if they go later - and it's only your club that will suffer when they change the rules to restrict it later.

New rules would last ten seconds if the premier got pick 1 again.

It's not a bad TV product at all, I love it

You get to see the reactions of each player immediately, much better than back in the day when they would have it going in the background and Freo would basically get skipped over each time.

This way you get to see everyone drafted

I wonder if like the NFL draft they are instructed to use up the time so the pundits have time to talk about the picks.

It's obvious this is the case. North and Carlton knew who they were taking, would have only taken 10 seconds if they weren't under instruction to wait.

On the first night anyway. I genuinely prefer the 2nd night without the padding. I like the reactions, would prefer they just moved onto the next pick in proper time.
