nice highlights. super contested mark, cover distances very quickly, gets involved. Could work out at either end. Can't teach a tall that contested marking or athleticism. Looks good Wallsy. We're finally a team full of good talls inc. depth. Something we've lacked in the past.

Well I did say this morning that Sims, Nicholls, Mraz, O’Farrell and Gerreyn in addition to other talls would go between 30 and 40. Probably didn’t have us taking one of them though.

I’ll be interested to see what we have to say about him, probably give a hint as to where we’ll play him. I’d 100% develop him forward with his speed and marking. As for his goal kicking, it’s over 60% at SANFL level which is pretty standard for most players these days.

Well this was an obvious move by Fremantle whilst you were thinking positional depth the club was thinking, fudge, we seem to be running out of South Australians, better find one quick!

Yeah a shock but is actually a need and his speed is ridiculous for a tall who is already a great mark. Not ready for AFL but a mighty good project pick.

Simpson and Reid can be our small forward depth, takes them away from competing with a midfield that is stacked with talent. They have plenty of time to make a move into the midfield (like Young) later in their careers.

Perhaps Narkle is our other depth across the ground.

Another half back with a great kick would be handy though.

Some of you guys just do not get it.
You don’t start with a list of positions you need to fill and just pick whatever neatly ticks that box, you scout by talent always. Thank god we don’t have Bigfooty posters running the place and picking whatevers ‘required’ inevitably glossing over future stars of the game.

Thankfully David Walls does get it and has knack for spotting out gems and does so every year in spite of Freo fans melting every year. Our drafting has been by far the best part of our operations for yonks now. Think we’ve got a couple more good ones this year too

Yeah we can all have our opinions but it's best left to the experts whose job it is to identify and pick these kids. Big Wallsy is pretty good at his job.
