Smart by us, strengthened our 2024 draft hand. We expect freo and eagles to be bottom 6.

We now have 1 first-rounder. 2 second-rounders inc freos 2nd. 3 X 3rd rounders ours, freo and eagles. Plus 3 fourth-rounders, ours Ports and Bombers. We have a lot of draft capital to do deals for teams needing points for academy and father-son's.

afl will be seething that we made a mockery of their stupid draft trading a shite load of picks for futures

will be a very gloomy morning at afl house tomorrow morning as they try to work out how to stop us
Why put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

Assuming the Richmond Board Phantom Drafters are on the money and not taking the p!$$, these players are still available:
Ollie Murphy
Schoenmaker,
ZZ Top,
George Stevens
Mitch Edwards
Angus Hastie
Tew Jiath
Archer Reid
Archie Roberts
Dirty Sanchez
Luke Lloyd.

However, I'm going to tune out tonight & get excited tomorrow when the rookie draft commences.
It's where we do our best work.
Good list

Fair to say that we've managed to turn a rather poor starting position into a strong position for the 2024 Trade/Free Agency and Draft period.

Plenty of flexibility to package up picks for better picks or to target players at the trade table. As I said during this years trade period TRUST THE PROCESS. It's how we built the premiership teams and it is how we will become a contender again sooner rather than later.

jayne clarke is like the mouthpiece scats and pies turn to when they want a rule change

Any word on Naish?
Did he even nominate
said from the start he was an outside soft spud like his bro and got shot down

good to see I was right

The narrative of rule changes coming in next year around academy / points matching and how that will work against our 2024 pick haul may be off the mark.

Could be wrong but any rule change would mean clubs have to pay a "fairer" value, so maybe their discounts will be reduced?

That would mean they need to accumulate more picks and that can only work to our advantage. Either way, I can't see how having more picks can work against us.

On a separate note, Matt Clarke turning 35 into 40 + two future picks - if that was another club the same people criticising him would be praising the opposition list manager.

Any rule changes would surely have to be applied from 2025 so as not to adversely affect teams who have traded future picks in good faith around the current rules. Or some other way would need to be found to compensate these teams. Otherwise it would be a complete farce - cue usual AFL farcically corrupt scenes.

That’s a really good point.

us trading for so many futures broke the afl last night

they are in damage control this morning and have loaded up all their media cronies and their favourite clubs pies and scats with "this has gotta stop we need to change" 🤣🤣🤣
